Reem Sameer Shaikh reveals why she would never do ‘Bigg Boss’; says, ‘It brings out the worst in you’
Actress Reem Sameer Shaikh, who has consistently impressed the audience with her TV shows, recently opened up about her personal as well as professional life. The actress appeared on a podcast with Shardul Pandit, where she made some revelations. She shared why she would never do Bigg Boss for several reasons.
While sharing the main reason behind not wanting to do the reality show, the actress said, “I did Fanaa, Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal, then I did Laughter Chefs. I’ve been on the same channel for many years now. But Bigg Boss, I don’t think I can do that show. Because, one, I can’t stay without talking to my mom or having her around. I am very close to her.”
While giving an example, she mentioned, “Even when I go on vacation, I feel guilty before leaving that I’m leaving her and won’t be around. Then after going, I’ll enjoy for 2–3 days, but by the fourth day, it starts hitting me again that I want to go back or that she must be missing me. Then I somehow manage for 4–5 days and come back. So I can’t stay without my mom. That’s my biggest, biggest reason for constantly saying no to Bigg Boss.”
She further shared, “I think it just brings out the worst in you. There are very few people who maintain their personality and aura and come back from that house. Ninety percent of the time, people lose it. They show a side of themselves that maybe shouldn’t be shown on television, according to me, or even in life in general, which is something I wouldn’t want to show.”
“It’s my life, and I want to keep it that way. I’m not that person who wants to show everything unfiltered. This is my profession; it’s not my whole life. So I will only show as much of it as I want to. I don’t remember who said it, but someone once told me that once you become an actor, it’s not your life anymore. But I don’t agree with that. I really don’t. I think your life is still yours,” she concluded.
