An FIR was registered last night against producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Asit Modi, executive producer Jatin Bajaj and operations head, Sohil Ramani for sexual and mental harassment. This was based on the complaint made by Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal.

She had made a complaint via email to the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Satyanarayan Chaudhary and DCP Maheshwar Reddy a month ago, citing mental and sexual harassment at workplace.

Senior Police Inspector Budhan Sawant at Powai police station confirmed the news. He said, "Yes, we have registered an FIR against Asit Kumarr Modi, Jatin Bajaj and Sohil Ramani of Neela Telefilms under sections 354 (A), 509 and 34 of IPC for mental and sexual harrasment. The investigation is on and we will take action only after the investigation is over and we come to a certain conclusion."

Meanwhile, Jennifer said she has been waiting for the police to take some action in her case. She said, "I have been waiting patiently for a month. I went to the police station two weeks ago and registered my statement. On Saturday, Neela Telefilms sent a letter to my lawyer accusing me of several things. Asit Modi is claiming how he is a 'father figure' on the set and has accused me of fighting with other members of the show after drinking on outdoor shoots. So after my lawyer received this letter, I decided to go to the Powai police station again yesterday. Finally, after my visit, an FIR was registered by the police authorities."
