Shri Krishna is all set to make way for Santoshi Maa on the small screen. Yes, you read it right. Mythological show, ‘
The show marked Ssudeep’s debut in the mythological genre. Talking about his experience, he says, “I would always reject any offer from the genre. And strangely, most of them were of Lord Krishna. The producers of ‘PSK’ convinced me that I was their Krishna and I took a leap of faith, thinking that it was time to explore something new. It is during the course of the show that I realised that I enjoyed playing the deity. The lines and costumes could be challenging, but the whole set-up is calm and has a different energy. It was definitely one of the best experiences I had.”
So, what next? Will he give the mythological genre a break? “I have received offers for a few fiction shows, but nothing is finalised. I want to take up something that’s creatively satisfying, be it fiction or mythology. For now, I plan to go on a mini vacation to unwind and spend time with my family,” he signs off.
