Take a look at these shows which were based on doctors' lives

National Doctor's Day is celebrated to recognise and honour the contribution of doctors and other healthcare professionals. There have been a few fiction shows on Indian television that have revolved around the lives of medical professionals. Some of these shows are still remembered fondly by viewers. Here's a look at them...

2/7

Sanjivani

This show went on air in 2002 and focussed on the lives of four medical interns, who were struggling to manage their work and personal life. There were struggles but it was interesting to see how they dealt with them. Actors like Mohnish Behl, Gurdeep Kohli, Mihir Mishra, Sanjeet Bedi and Rupali Ganguly were part of the show. There was a second season in 2019 starring Surbhi Chandna, Namit Khanna, Mohnish Behl and Gurdeep Kohli, but it couldn't match the popularity of the original season.

3/7

Dill Mill Gaye

The 90's audience surely remembers Dr Riddhima and Dr Arman Mallik played by actors Jennifer Winget and Karan Singh Grover. The show ran for three years and it was a hit. People enjoyed watching the camaraderie between the lead actors in the show.

4/7

Ayushmaan

Ayushmaan was the story of a young child who is a medical genius. It shows his journey as the youngest qualified doctor, who later falls in love with a senior doctor which leads to internal conflicts. The show began in August 2004 and ended in 2005.

5/7

Hamari Sister Didi

The show, which featured Pariva Pranati, Hiten Tejwani, Bhanu Uday and Avneet Kaur, focussed on the story of the head nurse Amrita at Muskaan hospital. The concept was interesting but the show didn't do too well and doesn't have too much recall value today.

6/7

Savitri Devi College & Hospital

The show revolves around the life of Dr Saanchi Mishra, a young medical student who aspires to become a successful doctor and joins the prestigious Savitri Devi College & Hospital in pursuit of her dream and that's where the story unfolds.

7/7

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge is a love story revolving around a team of doctors working at Dr Kotnis General Hospital in Lucknow. The show went on air in 2011 and starred Monish Bahl and Kritika Kamra.
