Take a look at these TV shows which recently took a generational leap to boost TRPs

Time and again, leaps have always been an integral part of daily soaps. But in recent times, shows have started taking generation leaps. So according to this, the star cast changes, new leads come in and a new story begins. It's mainly done when shows start stagnating and TRPs begin to drop.

This trend began with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in 2016 when Hina Khan and Karan Mehra's season ended and Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi took over. Two years ago, the show took another leap and Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod took the story forward.

After Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai other shows like Kumkum Bhagya too tried this strategy. Here's a look at the most recent ones that have attempted a revamp to boost their ratings

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin has just taken a leap. The show has moved ahead by 20 years. The lead cast Ayesha Singh, Neil Bhatt and Harshad Arora will not be a part of it anymore. Shakti Arora, Bhavika Sharma and Sumit Gulia Singh have now joined Ghum and will take the story ahead.

Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet

The show is all set to go through a 16-year leap which will result in the old cast moving out. However, lead actress Ashi Singh will continue and will now play her character's daughter.

Kundali Bhagya

Earlier this year in March, the show went through a 20-year-long leap and it saw many changes in the show. Paras Kalnawat, Baseer Ali and Sana Sayyad are now the main leads. Shraddha Arya continues to be a part of the show.

Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2

The show went through a time leap and a fresh story began with Niti Taylor and Randeep Rai as the young leads. That didn't work and it went off air in May this year. Last month, Bade Acche Lagte Hai 3 began where the old actors Disha Parmar and Nakuul Mehta were brought back.

6/7

Pandya Store

In a month's time, the show will take a leap. This decision taken by the makers has come as a surprise to the cast. Apparently, Krutika Desai is the only actor who will continue post leap. All the others will be out.

Naagin 6

The show has been through a leap multiple times. This season which stars Tejasswi Prakash has even seen a generation leap. Just when the audience thinks the show is wrapping up, the makers announce a leap. Actors have been changing but Tejasswi has been a constant on the show.
