Rubina Dilaik, who is in her 3rd trimester and may pop anytime soon, is keeping herself busy with her own chat show – ‘The Mamacado Show – Kisine Nahi Bataya’. Here, while talking to celebrity moms, Rubina also shares insights from her own pregnancy journey. This time she spoke about the physical changes in her body during pregnancy, getting trolled by people every time she puts on weight and more. Read on:

The constant physical changes

I'm seeing my armpits growing darker. They were never darker. I can notice thin lines of stretch marks and everything. I think, because we've been so much into the admiration of the beauty aspect of it, which is not bad at all but the sudden physical changes is new. The skin stretches, my shoe size has increased. I am not into fitting into L size clothes. I have to buy XL size. Also suddenly I think skin also starts looking dull. My dermatologist said it is because of the hormonal changes within you. Your skin is just collecting the melatonin and then you just feel like you don't want to look at yourself.

People thought I got a lip job

People started commenting that I did lip job, uplifted my cheeks. How should I tell them that I was just bloating up? It became so frustrating, I just blocked my comment section. When you put on weight, especially for us in this industry, the first thing they ask is ‘Are you pregnant?’

People started trolling post her Covid journey

Post Covid-19, I was put on steroids for recovery. My journey was excruciating. When you leave steroids, the very first side effect is that you gain weight. I gained 10 kgs in less than one and a half month. People started trolling and said, ‘Yeh toh pregnant hai’.

Having a supportive partner in the changing phase

It is so important also to have a partner who, appreciates, not just accepts but appreciates you physically in this changing phase. The girl, the woman, the wife, that one partner would love and enjoy having the intimate time when you are in your perfect size, perfect shape, perfect cadence. Now you're going through, you know all those changes it's hard for us to first accept that we are going through changes and then our partners being so supportive that whatever shape and size that you are changing your beauty is in your heart and mind.

Staying active throughout pregnancy

I have been into aerial yoga, gymnast, pilates and everything way before I got pregnant. Still I would take consultations from my doctor, my gynecologist that at what point in time in my pregnancy can I resume prenatal yoga, breathing, swimming? Because physically, I like keeping myself really active. So I continued with those things till at certain point I wasn't feeling bad about it. But then I wanted to join again and then in second trimester I joined again.

Getting trolled for posting exercise videos during pregnancy

But whenever I used to put up a social media post, I used to get trolled so badly. ‘This is not what you should be doing. What are you teaching pregnant women? Some can have miscarriage’. I was like I am doing what I've been doing since years. My body is used to it, used to it and has certain flexibility.
