Mom-to-be Rubina Dilaik on losing out on brands during pregnancy; says ‘so many brands pulled out after learning about my pregnancy'

Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla are all set to embrace parenthood and they are expecting twins. Prior to giving birth, Rubina started her own chat show and in the first episode, she spoke about how she found out being pregnant with twins and more. In the recent vlog, she had Bharti Singh as her guest and Rubina spoke about her pregnancy food aversions, how hubby Abhinav turned extra caring and more.

2/7

Hating perfumes

Rubina revealed she was hating perfume smell in first trimester of her pregnancy. She said in her vlog, “I started using perfumes again after 4-5 months. Abhinav would use a particular perfume and I couldn’t stand that smell. Even when he uses it now, I get remembered of the first trimester and tell him not to use.”

3/7

Food aversions

I had terrible aversions to onion, garlic. I felt pukish. First two months, I only ate paranthas and dahi. Whoever said pregnancy is all about glamour is a lie. How do we say pregnancy is such a glowing thing?

4/7

Losing out on brands due to pregnancy

Initially, when people started commenting that I am pregnant, I couldn’t react because till 3 months I couldn’t react. After 3 months I got a bit comfortable and you feel like getting back to work. You also start to show. So many brands pulled out after learning about my pregnancy. Half of the brands don’t want to collaborate with you.

5/7

Pampered during pregnancy

We have been together for 9 years – 4 years together and 5 years of marriage. I have been the one to apologise to Abhinav after every fight. But in these 9 months, he will keep apologising at the drop of the hat. Even if he is not at fault, he will say sorry. I am like woah!

6/7

Abhinav’s gesture

As I entered 9th month, I started getting muscle cramps. One night, I screamed taking his name. He got up and thought it’s time to take me to the hospital. I told him it is muscle cramp. For one hour, he kept massaging my legs. He got panicked.

7/7

From being a couple to a family

I feel two people are two individuals until a baby comes. Once a baby happens, then they become a family. The change that comes then, your relationship takes a different transition.
