Back in 2012, when Malhar Pandya played the role of

Hanuman

in the show ‘Ramayan: Sabke Jeevan ka Aadhar’, he had no idea how difficult it would be. The show is enjoying a rerun on television since the past two months and while watching it, the actor remembers the difficulties he faced while shooting for it.

Malhar says, “I clearly remember the first day of the shoot where they gave me five-six parathas to eat because after the make-up and silicon mouth was applied on the face, I wouldn’t be able to eat anything for several hours. I used to survive on fruit juices. The tail of

Bajrangbali

weighs almost 8 kgs and I couldn’t even sit normally during the breaks. They used to give me a stool to sit on so that the tail wouldn’t come off.”

“Another problem was that Bajrangbali never wore footwear, so I had to shoot all the fight and jungle scenes in the heat without wearing any chappals. However, despite all the difficulties that I faced, I knew this was a special character and that I may not get to play something like this again. Over the years, Malhar has also been a part of shows such as ‘

Nazar

’ and ‘Rudra’.
