Make-up rules to including real families in required scenes: New guidelines for artists before TV shoots resume

Shooting has been completely under lockdown since second last week of March. After two and half months, a 16-page official directive comprising guiding principles has been issued for the restart of the media and entertainment industry. The guidelines pertain to managing COVID-19 risks on sets, necessary dos and don’ts many other rules. Let’s take a look: (Image used only as reference)

Note for actors

Actors are encouraged to carry out most of their get-up at their residence and visit premises with minimal staff of one. All trial and fittings to be done at home. Look tests to be done over videos conference. Artists will be encouraged to carry their own food. Reduce artist-contestant interaction. Junior artists to be reduced/avoided in scenes. Make-up rules

Mix make-up on disposable palette and use of one brush and applicator per actor. Clean hairbrush, combs and reusable make-up brushes with appropriate disinfecting solution. Avoid hair and make-up for secondary or backup actors. PPE kits and face guards to be worn be make-up/hairstylists. Dispose of make-up kits after use. (Image used only as reference)

Studio premises

Minimising crew strength to 33% of pre-COVID (this does not include the main cast). Also crew member doesn’t include security personnel, drivers, catering service and generator operator. While travelling necessary permissions need to be taken from the Government to enable employees reach their destination. Pregnant employees or spouse, who is pregnant won’t be allowed. For fiction/non-fiction NO audience would be allowed. (Image used only as reference)

Non-fiction show

Reduce camera staff. Seating distance to be made as per social distancing norms. Minimise use of attendants. All equipments to be sanitized. Ample number of wash basins with disinfectant soaps and hand sanitisers near shoot locations. (Image used only as reference)

Casting rules

When possible casting should be done over online video tools. Artists are encouraged to wait in their cars and not crowd the casting facility. During group discussion, proper face mask and social distancing to be followed. And while casting families, real family members should be used so physical contact is kept within existing unit. Rules for contestants for Reality Shows

While no contestants under the age of 10 will be allowed, source of outfits and new costumes for them will also have to be avoided. Contestants have to carry their personal wardrobe.
