Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali have been making headlines over rumours of their divorce for a while now. The actress has now shared a cryptic post on social media. A recent report by Hindustan Times suggests that the couple is heading for a divorce. However, neither Jay nor Mahhi has confirmed it yet.
Reports of their divorce being finalised have been circulating on the internet. Mahhi shared a post on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “May we always have the money to buy the things that we screenshot.” The post has now added more fuel to the fire.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Jay and Mahhi filed for divorce a few months ago. The report claimed, “Much was tried, but nothing changed. Separation happened a long time ago. They filed for divorce a couple of months back. The papers were signed and finalized in July–August, and the custody of the kids has also been decided.”
Previously, Mahhi had reacted to divorce rumours on The Male Feminist podcast. She said, “Even if it is the case, why should I tell you? Are you my uncle? Will you pay my lawyer’s fee? Why do people make such a big deal out of somebody’s divorce or separation? I see people writing in my comments section, ‘Mahhi toh decent hai, Jay aisa hai’ (She is decent, but Jay is not). Then somebody else writes, ‘Jay accha hai, Mahhi hi aisi hai’ (Jay is good, but she is not). They just want to blame someone. Do you even know the truth? What do you know?”
Fans quickly reacted to Mahhi’s post, with many expressing concern about the couple’s relationship. Some hoped the two would reconcile, while others sent supportive messages to both Jay and Mahhi, urging people not to speculate without confirmation. A few fans, however, interpreted Mahhi’s post as a subtle hint about her emotional state, calling it “sad but strong.” The post has continued to fuel discussions online about the couple’s marriage and the challenges of being in the public eye.
Jay and Mahhi married in 2011. They are parents to their daughter, Tara, born in 2019, and also care for their foster children, Rajveer and Khushi, whom they welcomed into their family in 2017.
