Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: From expressing their love for Taarak Mehta’s Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal to opening up about their struggling days: Manu Bhaker and Aman Sehrawat’s top revelations

Television’s beloved reality quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, aired a special episode titled ‘Jeet Ka Jashn’ to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Olympic medallists Manu Bhaker and Aman Sehrawat. The two Olympic champions made several revelations on the hot seat that left the host Amitabh Bachchan amazed. Here’s a look:-

Big B praised Manu and said, “Two things that I really like about you is your smile and your saree. When I saw you taking the medal, I thought I’d praise your smile when we meet and it’s my honour.” He further said, “I saw you with your hair open and today you have tied your hair and are wearing a beautiful saree which really suits you.” Manu thanks the legendary actor for the same.

Manu reveals the techniques of her shooting

During their conversation, Mr Bachchan expresses his curiosity about the sport, saying, “I used to wonder why shooters waited so long after taking a shot. I couldn’t grasp it until Abhishek explained that they’re controlling their breathing and heart rate; that’s why they take their time.” Additionally, Mr Amitabh Bachchan asked Manu Bhaker if there is any particular technique that has helped her in her craft. Manu Bhaker explained, “At the start, having a strong foundation is crucial, and that applies to everything. Many people think shooting is simple - just pick up the pistol and aim, but it's much more complex than that. During a match, our heart rate accelerates, and we must remain composed, even if we're feeling anxious. Controlling that anxiousness or nervousness takes time and practice. To maintain focus, I rely heavily on yoga, Surya Namaskar, and meditation. I follow this routine with strict discipline. Additionally, I use a breathing technique with a 4:8 ratio: inhaling for 4 seconds and exhaling for 8 seconds. Mastering this through practice helps normalize my heart rate. During matches, when nerves make our hands shake while aiming, this breathing exercise helps me stay calm and focused.”

Aman and Manu on their success

Amitabh Bachchan asked Manu Bhaker and Aman Sehrawat about their experiences. Bhaker stated, "Mera saade 8 saal ka career hua hai abhi, or jab hum podium par vo medal lete hai na toh unn 8 second mein vo 8 saal ki ek dum yaad aati hai." (My career spans little over 8 years, and those 8 seconds on the podium make all 8 years of hard work seem like it happened in an instant.)" Aman, on the other hand, said, “I lost by 10-0 in the last Olympics and this time I wanted to defeat the player by 10-0 which I did and I’m very happy.”

Manu calls her mom, “her inspiration”

Talking about her inspiration, Bharat Ki Beti - Manu Bhaker shared, “My mom is my biggest inspiration. She always dreamed of being an athlete but never had the resources or support needed. Although she never thought about the levels she could reach as an athlete, she was very good at sports. She has always given me the freedom to pursue my interests, and even when I was scared, she would motivate me by saying, ‘Don’t worry, just play.’ In a way, it was her dream too, to see me where I am today. Her incredible support has been an inspiration for me. I believe that when a mother is strong, the daughter is definitely strong. And, later, I started watching Mary Kom Ma’am and PV Sindhu didi, who also inspired me a lot, and that’s when I truly began to follow sports and my dream to reach the Olympics stage.”

Aman on his struggles

In a heartfelt moment on Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, Olympic medalist Aman Sehrawat opened up about the hardships he faced during his childhood. As he sat across from the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, Aman reflected on his difficult past, revealing that he lost both of his parents when he was just 11 years old. This devastating loss left him without emotional and financial support, and his journey to success became even more challenging. Aman shared that after his parents' passing, his family struggled with severe financial difficulties. "We didn’t have enough money as my relatives are farmers. It was my brother who supported me throughout,” he recalled, explaining how these circumstances made it nearly impossible for him to pursue his dreams.
