Jaan’s controversial statement in Bigg Boss 14 to his father Kumar Sanu blaming ex-wife for son's upbringing; a look at TV newsmakers of the week

The past week was full of a few surprises and lots of shocks for the TV industry. Although some good things were happening around our very own TV celebs, a few incidents took the industry by a storm. During an episode in Bigg Boss 14, Jaan Kumar Sanu asked Nikki Tamboli to not use the Marathi language. He had told Nikki Tamboli to not speak in Marathi with fellow contestant Rahul Vaidya and said “mereko chid hoti hai (it irks me)”. This remark irked many. MNS leader Ameya Khopkar had demanded an immediate apology. The channel then issued an apology on the same and wrote to the Government of Maharashtra that they will edit out the statement.

Later Jaan was reprimanded by Bigg Boss. He further apologised to the Marathi community and said that if unknowingly he has hurt their sentiments then he is extremely sorry. After Jaan Kumar Sanu's controversial statement on Bigg Boss 14, father and singer Kumar Sanu apologised in a video. He said that he has learnt about his son's statement in the Bigg Boss house and would like to apologise for that since Jaan is his son.

The singer said in the video, "I heard that my son, Jaan, said something very wrong that never crossed my mind or could have crossed my mind in these 41 years. Maharashtra, Mumbai and Mumba devi blessed me and gave me name, fame and everything else. I can never think such things about that same Mumba devi and Maharashtra. I love and respect all languages of India. I have sung songs in different languages."

TV actress Avika Gaur, famous for her role as Anandi in ‘Balika Vadhu’ started as a child actor and is all grown up today. She lost almost 13 kilos in the last few months and has not only transformed externally but internally too. The actress even admitted to making the wrong choices in life. She took to her Instagram a fabulous picture of hers with her transformation journey in the caption. She wrote, “Well, one fine day I decided that it was enough and that I must evolve. Indian Idol judge Neha Kakkar married beau Rohanpreet Singh on October 24, in a Gurudwara wedding ceremony. The wedding ceremony was followed by a wedding reception party and more. Last week three wild card entries were seen in the popular reality show Bigg Boss 14. Actress Malvi Malhotra was stabbed with a knife on a busy road in Mumbai on Monday (October 26). Allegedly, she was attacked by an acquaintance, Yogesh Mahipal Singh, for turning down his marriage proposal. She is undergoing treatment in Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai she has undergone plastic surgery after the attack. The culprit has been arrested by Versova police. Talking about her health, the actress said, “I think it will take 2-3 months before I am alright. Right now, the fingers of my left hand are not moving. The knife incision in my stomach was about 1.5 inches.”

The actress’ friend and actor Prashant Bajaj is looking after her and has been by her side since the day the incident took place. He told ETimes TV, “Whatever has happened is terrible. Malvi is in deep pain and agony. I still can't forget the phone from Malvi's call 'bachao mujhe, woh mujhe chaaku maar raha hai' that night. I think it happened around 8.30 pm. Actress Nia Sharma’s handbag was stolen from her car in the Lower Parel area of Mumbai. She took to her Twitter account to appeal to Mumbai Police for help. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Samay Shah, who plays Gogi in the show, was ganged up, abused and threatened by goons at his residential building in Borivali on October 27. The actor registered a police complaint and took to his Instagram account to inform his fans and followers. He posted a CCTV screen capture of one of the culprits on his story and wrote, “This man came in my building two days back, started abusing me for no reason, i have no idea who is he?, what was reason behind abusing me?
