It was scary to be all alone in Mumbai, says Arshi Khan after recovering from COVID-19
Arshi Khan with her Sheru
It’s been a month since Arshi Khan tested positive for COVID-19. Recently, she tested negative and returned to her hometown Bhopal. While the actress is happy to be reunited with her family, she is badly missing her stuffed toy Sheru, which came into limelight during her stint in Bigg Boss 14. Shares Arshi, “I am in Bhopal and my Sheru is in Mumbai.
I could not bring him with me because I doubt that I got the infection from him. While shooting in Ludhiana, people, especially young girls, would request to cuddle him, kiss him and take photographs with him. Someone affected with the virus must have touched him, and that’s how I got infected. So, for a while, he is in my Mumbai home.”

‘Rahul Vaidya and Aly Goni would regularly check on me’
Arshi, who spent her quarantine period all alone in Mumbai, adds, “Those 18 days were quite an experience. One realises life is so uncertain and unpredictable. Thankfully, my case was not that bad and doctors were always available on video call. But it was scary to be all alone in my apartment, taking care of my health, food and home. Since one has to self-isolate, I had no choice but to count the days. Thankfully, I had friends like Aly (Goni) and Rahul (Vaidya), who would regularly check on me.”

‘I am waiting for the day when I can fly back to Mumbai’
Arshi, who was a contestant in Big Boss 11, also entered the house in Bigg Boss 14 as a wild card. She believes that despite all her fights, she made some good friends. “Aly and Rahul are my very good friends. I am waiting for the day when I can fly back to Mumbai and we can have a blast together. While Rahul is in Cape Town, we want to meet and recreate all the fun moments soon. During my home quarantine, the three of us would have long video calls. Humari fights bahot hoti thi, lekin main jaanti hoon ki hamare rishte bahot strong hain,” she shares.

‘Salman Khan always appreciated my Urdu diction and vocabulary’
Arshi, who is well versed in Urdu, has always impressed Salman Khan with her Urdu vocabulary and diction. Recalling the finale of Bigg Boss 14, Arshi shares, “I am a big fan of Salman ji and love the way he appreciates my Urdu. He had introduced me to veteran actor Dharamendra, saying, ‘Mohatarma ki Urdu behad shaandar hai!’ Later, he also introduced me to Iulia (Vantur) and told her, ‘If you want to succeed in Bollywood and create your own space, you need to learn Urdu like Arshi Khan.’ These are the biggest compliments for me!”
