Hina Khan shares her mother's emotional struggles amid breast cancer battle; says 'She cries during Namaz'
Television actor Hina Khan, who is battling stage 3 breast cancer, frequently shares her treatment journey with fans on social media. While she has undergone surgery and chemotherapy, she is still in the process of recovery. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Hina opened up about her mother’s emotional struggles and how she finds solace in prayer.
When the interviewer mentioned how Manisha Koirala once revealed that her parents used to cry behind her back but stayed strong in front of her, Hina shared that her mother also gets emotional.
She said, “For my mother, that place is the balcony. She shuts the sliding door, sits out there, and cries. Kabhi kabhi mere saamne bhi ro deti hai, but apart from that, Namaz mein bahot roti hai (Sometimes she cries in front of me, but apart from that, she cries during Namaz). There are times when there’s pain, but I keep my face calm. But there are times when you have to let it out and shout. During that time, she cries. We can’t do anything about it. But she has been very strong, and the way she has held herself throughout, I am so proud of her.”
Hina’s father passed away due to cardiac arrest in 2021. Reflecting on his absence, she shared that she and her mother often wonder how he would have reacted to her illness.
She said, “My father was very soft-hearted. When Covid was there, our neighbour had got it, so he was like, ‘Oh my God, now what to do? Even we will get Covid.’ But my mother is very headstrong. Sometimes my mother and I talk about how he would have handled it if he were here. He used to treat me like a queen. Mere papa nahi dekh pate (my father couldn't have seen me like this). We often talk about how it would have been if he were around. It is better that he has not seen me like this.”
