From Shehzada Dhami to Gia Manek; 8 TV actors who got replaced from their shows

Television industry is a place with full of ups and downs. Here not only a show goes off-air overnight, even actors on certain occasions are shown the door overnight and get replaced. There are instances when actors are ousted from shows due to various reasons, including conflicts with producers, actors' unreasonable demands, low compensation, unsatisfactory performance, and more. Take a look at actors, who got replaced.

2/9

Shehzada Dhami

Shehzada Dhami, who portrayed the character Armaan got replaced overnight. Reportedly, Shehzada's disregard for professional conduct became apparent right from the start, with consistent tantrums and mistreatment of the crew. Despite attempts to rectify the situation, his behavior persisted, disrupting the harmonious work environment that Rajan Shahi’s production house aims to uphold.

3/9

Pratiksha Honmukhe

Pratiksha Honmukhe, who was seen in the role of Roohi, was a newcomer. She was groomed by the production house but failed to meet the character requirements as expected.

4/9

Karan Singh Grover

Karan Singh Grover, the male lead of Qubool Hai, was let go due to unprofessional behavior. A source associated with the show had informed BT that Karan had a track record of being unprofessional. He exhibited similar behavior during Dill Mill Gayye, a show he departed from at its peak. During the filming of Qubool Hai, Karan would frequently arrive late or sometimes not show up at all. Even when present, he would only shoot for a few hours before leaving. His consistent lack of professionalism in recent months is the main reason for his replacement.

5/9

Gulki Joshi

Gulki Joshi, who joined the cast of 'Piya Rangrezz' after a time leap, was suddenly removed from the show. The production house cited a lack of chemistry between her and the male lead, which they believed negatively impacted the show's ratings. The abrupt decision came as a shock to Gulki as well.

6/9

Drashti Dhami

The TV actress, who had won Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 was ousted as the host from the seventh season due to her inability to captivate audiences alongside Ranvir Shorey. Her departure came after her hosting performance garnered negative feedback and low TRPs. A crew member revealed that Drashti was brought on board because of her previous win, aiming to inject some glamour into the show. However, post the premiere episode, the channel received negative reactions about her. Unfortunately, her chemistry with Ranvir Shorey didn't resonate with viewers. Consequently, the makers opted to approach the channel for a replacement.

7/9

Gia Manek

The main actress of "Sath Nibhana Saathiya", Gia Manek was terminated from the show after she decided to participate in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Her sudden termination stemmed from conflicts between the channel and the actress. While her contract permitted her participation, the channel objected to it, resulting in her termination.

8/9

Rishabh Sinha

The actor, who played Ayaan in Qubool Hai, was served a legal notice by the channel and production house of the show. The reason — despite being bound by an exclusive contract with the channel, he had taken up another offer. A source had said back then, “Leaving a show for another without informing anyone is uncalled for. It was least expected of an actor to treat his debut show in such an unprofessional manner. He had stopped reporting on the set and had also misbehaved with the producers and channel officials. The channel had decided to take strict action against the breach of contract.”

9/9

Ritvik Arora

Ritvik Arora, who played Kunal Rajvansh in ‘Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’ was replaced. Reportedly, producer Rajan Shahi said that one of his lead actors was was demanding an exorbitant fee hike and behaving unprofessionally during the pandemic. Back then, Rajan told BT, "We have been very accommodating with actors who have genuine COVID concerns. If an actor wants to opt out of a show, we totally understand. But the behaviour of unprofessional people, who hold a production house to ransom, should be called out. In the case of Ritvik, there was a problem even last year when he didn’t turn up for shoot for a day and he was not reachable on phone, and we suffered losses. He apologised later in writing and we gave him another chance then."
