From mixing liquid soap in Elvish’s water to bond with Abhishek: Jiya Shankar’s journey in Bigg Boss OTT 2

The thrilling roller coaster ride of the second season of Bigg Boss OTT is nearing its finale, which is all set for Monday, August 14. Currently, six contestants have made it to the road to finale. Pooja Bhatt, Abhishek Malhan, Elvish Yadav, Manisha Rani and Bebika Dhurve are fighting for the prestigious trophy. Here, take a look at the ups and downs in Jiya’s journey in the show as she just got evicted in the last leg.

Jiya Shankar's enigmatic persona has kept everyone intrigued throughout the show. Her aura, combined with her competitive spirit added an element of unpredictability to the game. Jiya's unpredictable moves and calculated risks kept the housemates on their toes, making her journey a captivating one to witness. However, just a few days prior to the finale, she got evicted.

Jiya Shankar and Palak Purswani’s friendship kept everyone hooked in the early days of Bigg Boss OTT 2. The two had been best friends but their bond had turned sour before they entered the show. Jiya had revealed in the show that Palak kept friendship with her ex even after their break-up. The two came face-to-face in the house and cleared out their feelings.

Jiya’s bond with Avinash Sachdev also raised eyebrows initially. Palak, Avinash’s ex had told housemates that when they were together, he couldn’t tolerate Jiya and now they in the house they were sticking to each other.

Jiya’s closeness to Jad Hadid in the house was noticed. Both of them had a mutual liking for each other. Initially, Jad had mentioned that he sees Jiya as his daughter. In one of the episodes, Abhishek Malhan was seen saying, “Mujhe yahi kehta tha ki meri beti jaisi hain daughter-daughter kehta tha pehle (Earlier Jad used to tell me that Jiya is like my daughter).” Manisha replied to Abhishek, “See as per the gestures that I see in front of me that cannot be a daughter feeling. Now we cannot even say that it's love but see they are definitely close to each other.” In one of the episodes, Jiya and Jad had a heart to heart conversation, where both confided that they share an important place in each other’s lives.

In one of the episodes, Jiya had confessed about not using her father’s name. She had revealed the reason behind her name – Jiya Shankar. She was seen telling Jad, “I don't have a father and I know what that means. I never call anyone dad and I have never given that position to anybody in my life. Shankar is not my father's name. It is not my last name. Shankar is not my last name or my father's name. Shankar is not my real name. I don't use my father's name, I don't use his last name. I am saying this in front of zillion people.”

Jiya had several fights in the house over several issues - from Pooja Bhatt, Aashika Bhatia to Manisha Rani. She became the captain and ended up fighting with Manisha over bed. She got into a war of words with Bebika Dhurve over the latter’s behavioral issues. Jiya also had fights with Pooja as the latter commented on her changing equations in the house.

Jiya Shankar mixing liquid soap in Elvish Yadav’s drinking water was one of major highlights this season. Not only did all the housemates made her realise her mistake, host Salman Khan too pulled her up for her act. Jiya confessed that she initially thought of playing a prank on him but didn’t realise the gravity of the situation. She had apologised to him profusely later in Weekend Ka Vaar.

Jiya’s bond with Abhishek was discussed by netizens throughout. Jiya was teased by Falaq Naaz, when the latter was trying to link Aashika Bhatia with Abhishek. Jiya said that she knew his choice and Aashika is not his choice. Netizens also shipped them as #AbhiYa and called them “Married couple” in tweets.

Jiya performed marvelously in the torture task to save her captaincy and was lauded for it. In the Satta Palat task, Jiya had to sit on a throne for 3 hours while all the housemates had to torture her in order to take her captaincy. Jiya withstood it all and saved her position as a captain.
