Major moments from MasterChef India this season

The latest season of MasterChef India finally wrapped up with Nayanjyoti Saikia lifting the trophy. Take a look at some of the major moments of the show, as the season was a roller coaster ride for the viewers, the home cooks and the judges' chefs Ranveer Brar, Garima Arora, and Vikas Khanna.

Got massively trolled for favouring home cook Aruna Vijay

The show got massively trolled for major reasons and most of the time the trolls targeted home cook Aruna Vijay, she got trolled for the plating of her dishes, for Chef Ranveer helping her cook, and even getting favoured by the chefs as she couldn't cook with meat or eggs so she often had an upper hand in choosing a vegetarian protein. Viewers weren't that happy with the biased approach, however, Aruna was one of the top 4 contestants on the show.

The judges were accused of being biased, pretending to eat and more

The judges were accused of being biased throughout the season; the viewers often felt they were biased towards Aruna. In one of the episodes, viewers even accused Chef Garima of pretending to eat and Chef Ranveer of cooking and teaching Aruna and then appreciating her for something she didn't do. Chef Garima had even exclusively clarified the reason behind the empty fork, "We take a lot of bites, and sometimes we think there is food in our forks but it is not. So finally what makes it to the edit, there is nothing to be commented on."

Chef Ranveer Brar got emotional tasting Chandrakala

When MasterChef Judge Ranveer Brar tasted the dishes prepared by home cook Shanta, he broke into tears. When he ate Chandrakala, he couldn't keep his feelings restrained, talking about his experience exclusively with ETimes TV Ranveer said, "At home, Pallavi believes in Krishna ji a lot. They decided to eat satvik banayenge and by eating this Chandrakala voh journey complete hogaya."

Chef Garima Arora clarified the reason being helping home cooks

There have been many times viewers have pointed out how the Chefs often help out or guide the home cooks in the show. They were even trolled for their lenient reactions too. When ETimes TV exclusively asked Chef Garima Arora about the same, she stated, "We don't want them to fail, we want each one of them to succeed but the format of the show doesn't let you help them so much. It is not a cooking school, you could only guide them while they are cooking and it is up to the home cooks to understand and incorporate."

The season's challenges got compared to previous seasons

The viewers felt that the whole season was quite easy and lenient in comparison to the previous seasons and their challenges. A user even posted a picture of chef Pankaj from season 3 struggling with her dish and wrote, "This season the contestants didn't face even half of such a tricky task I feel. Omg I still remember being so nervous for chef Pankaj till she served that to the judges."

7/10

A two-week interesting boot camp for home cooks

While sharing about how Baa was struggling to handle the pasta machine, Chef Garima exclusively shared with ETimes TV about the Boot Camp that all the home cooks underwent before the season of MasterChef India began. She shared, "The home cooks undergo a two-week boot camp before the show begins to understand and learn to work with different appliances. Baa knew what she wanted to do, at that point, you do the right thing and help them out. It is commendable to see how she handled the machine at that age."

8/10

Innovative ideas but a failed attempt

There were many such innovative ideas that the home cooks tried in the kitchen but very few of them could turn out delicious; however, some were a major flop. From Suvarna's first attempt at cooking kharvas to Aruna's coffee shrikhand, the chefs couldn't even hide their reaction to the dish.

Master class for the home cooks

The upcoming week after the Finale is dedicated to the home cooks as a master class where the renowned chefs and judges of MasterChef India, Chef Ranveer Brar, Chef Vikas Khanna and Chef Garima Arora will be teaching the home cooks some new cooking techniques and training them for professional kitchens. It will be interesting to see what will these home cooks take as their most important lesson from the Master class.

Leaked picture of Nayanjyoti Sakia lifting the MasterChef Trophy before its finale

Before the finale could air, a photo of home cook Nayanjyoti wearing the 'MasterChef coat' and carrying the trophy was uploaded by a show's fan page. Also, the crew members were spotted behind him as they wrapped the shoot for the finale. This sparked the news amongst the netizens that Nayanjyoti is the winner of the show. Most of them were overjoyed with the news and wrote, "I'm happy that they didn't make Aruna the winner. The way it is going I thought they will declare Aruna ji the winner even if she makes khichdi in the finale."
