From fallout with mama Govinda to exiting The Kapil Sharma Show due to monetary issues; Times Krushna Abhishek made headlines

Krushna Abhishek is all set to return to The Kapil Sharma Show after a long sabbatical. The comedian and actor had quit the show due to payment issues. Now that he has returned, he has come back with a revised contract. Take a look at the controversies that took place during his stint with the show previously:

Krushna Abhishek's remark on his show caused Govinda to become irate with him. Govinda had criticised his nephew in an earlier interview for "making money by insulting others on television." He admitted that the statement, "Maine Govinda ko apna mama rakha hai," had him "extremely upset." Krushna had defended himself by claiming that the remark "wasn't in bad taste." Due to this Govinda swapped his dates for his TKSS episode and went when Krushna was not performing.

In order to promote his comeback movie Jagga Jasoos, Govinda made an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2016 alongside his wife Sunita and daughter Tina. Krushna Abhishek, who at the time hosted the Comedy Nights Love, a competing show, appeared to be dissatisfied by this presence. "Our dates didn't seem to line up in some way. Four days ago, I messaged him once more, but to my surprise, I discovered that he and his wife were filming with Kapil. I was shocked because I expected him to stand up for his nephew," Krushna had said at the time.

As the dispute continued for a long time, in one of the episodes of The Kapil Sharma Show Krushna took a sly dig at Govinda by including the family banter. He said, “Mereko film industry ka sab pata rehta hai, meri poori family film industry mein hai. Woh alag baat hai aaj kal main family mein nahi hoon (I know everything about the film industry, my whole family is a part of it. It is a different story that I am not a part of my family nowadays)”

Sunita Ahuja, Govinda's wife had criticised Krushna's wife Kashmera Shah in 2018 for her tweet regarding "people who dance for money." The couple chose to end relations with Kashmera and Govinda after Sunita claimed that she was the one being discussed. Later, Krushna stated that it was intended for his sister Arti Singh, but it didn't make a difference. The two families had a public falling out as a result of the whole debacle.

When Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja appeared on stage in 2019, Krushna Abhishek, who was playing Sapna on The Kapil Sharma Show, was reportedly requested not to attend the episode. Krushna expressed his sadness and shock at learning Sunita mami did not want to share the platform with him in an interview with Bombay Times, "The team informed me that Sunita Mami didn't want me to appear in the segment with them. Therefore, I performed at a gig before they arrived. Given that my role, Sapna, is so important to the drama, it was both sad and shocking", Krushna stated.

In 2020, Krushna decided to make an exit from The Kapil Sharma Show's episode featuring Govinda as a celebrity guest. Krushna told the Bombay Times in an interview, “I learnt about Chi Chi Mama coming on the show around 10 days ago. Since Sunita Mami wasn’t accompanying him, the team thought that I would have no qualms about performing. However, the incident has left a bad taste in my mouth. Last year, she didn’t want me to perform in front of them, but this time, I had reservations."

Krushna Abhishek, who received praise for portraying Sapna on TKSS, had left the television show. He reportedly had contractual problems, but a source told TOI that "The makers and Krushna tried their best to work things out." The cost was one of the main issues. He eventually had to leave TKSS due to financial issues. We do, however, hope that the issues will be settled in due time and that Krushna returns to the show. We haven't completely ruled that out yet.

There were rumours of rivalry between Kapil and Krushna. However, the actor put the rumours to rest and stated that "I will come back to The Kapil Sharma Show, I really love Kapil. We had begun our journey with Comedy Circus. He has taken the Entertainment Industry to new heights. The comedy shows should work and personally, we have a lot of love for each other. He took care of me for four years, we know everything we went through while working together in lockdown. There were contractual issues but nothing between Kapil and me, we even met in Australia and went out together. I really miss the team, Kapil and I will surely come together."

Krushna exclusively confirmed his return to The Kapil Sharma Show with Bombay Times, he shared, “It’s not a change of heart but a change of contract (laughs!). The contract had several concerns, including money, but all issues have been resolved. The show and the channel are like family, and I am glad to be back.” Krushna is adored for his character Sapna in the show. Fans can't wait to see Sapna's massage parlour back.
