Celebs who've objected to Sajid Khan's participation in Bigg Boss 16

Bigg Boss 16, which premiered on October 1, has already landed itself in trouble as several have objected to 'Me Too' accused Sajid Khan's participation in the reality show. Popular celebs and netizens have slammed the makers for giving a chance to Sajid Khan to 'clear his image' and redeem himself through the show. However, the voices against him are growing stronger by the day. Take a look at the list of celebs who've spoken against Sajid Khan's participation in BB 16.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee

Devoleena Bhattacharjee in a recent interview to a TV channel shared that she is against Sajid Khan's participation in Bigg Boss 16. She said, "It is a simple thing - nine women cast allegations on Sajid Khan. Not all of those nine can be wrong. Tell me, will someone install a camera and then abuse? This is why women avoid complaining about these incidents. Even the parents are scared that society will prove the victim as a liar. It breaks my heart to see him on national television, trying to prove he is a hero. I feel bad thinking where our society is headed." The actress added that she doesn't feel Sajid is regretful of his behaviour and rather 'roaming around saying 'mai toh sab ka baap hu'. She plans to stop watching BB if he doesn't quit. Urfi Javed

Urfi Javed has also been open about her disapproval of Sajid's participation in BB 16. In her initial stories, she slammed makers for supporting sexual predators. She wrote, "It's not controversial, it's just disgraceful!" Not just that, she reiterated the same a day ago by drawing people's attention to the fact that Sajid never apologised for his misdeeds. She wrote, "I would like to remind all of you that Sajid Khan has never apologized to any of the girls he molested or he preyed on or did whatever. He's not even apologized to the nation. But, on the other hand, he keeps defending his actions. He never apologized, he's not sorry for it but he keeps defending what he did. What an a**hole." (Photo: Instagram)

Sona Mohapatra

Sona Mohapatra was the first of all to have lashed out at makers for having Sajid onboard for the 16th edition. She wrote, ""This is #SajidKhan, now on a reality TV show. Then there is #AnuMalik judging a music reality show on TV, for children no less. #KailashKher? Celebrity Judge on TV. ALL called out by many many women in @IndiaMeToo. Indian TV channels, executives are indeed a depraved & sad lot." Not once, but she has repeatedly slammed the channel and makers for 'platforming serial sex offenders'.

Mandana Karimi

In an interview to an English daily, Mandana Karimi, who had accused Sajid in the 'Me Too' movement, shared that Bollywood has 'no respect for women'. She said, "For people, life has become like, ‘If it’s going to benefit me and I can make money, who cares?’ The industry is a place where someone is someone’s mum, boyfriend, girlfriend or husband. It’s like, 'You scratch my back and I will scratch yours'." She also reportedly said that she 'doesn't want to work in Bollywood or be associated with an industry where there is no respect for women'.

Saloni Chopra

In her Instagram post, Saloni Chopra pointed out to the larger problem that exists in society which allows makers to give such sexual offenders chances. Speaking against his participation, Saloni wrote,"I think it's a load of fucking bullshit. I think it's pathetic that he's allowed that platform, yet I am not surprised in any way. I think the lack of responsibility society holds itself up to for being the core reason women still fear speaking is even more disheartening. I think he's on this show for this exact same reaction. Because it's creating noise. This noise directly translates into views. Because enough people will enable and protect awful men. Everybody has skeletons - you can change that until you change the unfair power dynamics. (Photo: Instagram)

Petition against Sajid's participation on Bigg Boss

An online petition has been started wherein several users have signed against Sajid Khan's participation in the show. Several others have lashed out at the makers on Twitter and demanded that Sajid Khan be removed from BB 16. There are people who are questioning the way he has taken on the mantle of being all 'father-like' to redeem himself.

Try however hard, Colors will not punish someone on an unproven offence. This same Devoleena wanted to falsely defame Siddharth Shukla in "Me too" in BB13. Have we forgotten that? How can she be a spokesperson for "Me too movement?" Punishment should be proportional to the punishment prescribed in law? Rampant misuse of sections 354, 498 A, even 376 and 377 has shown to the courts that women not always speak the truth. Some women may be hurt that Sajid did not give an opportunity to them, may be made fun of them, may be have been rude to them, may be would have misbehaved with them, so they want to destroy him. Why do not one main stream actress accuse him of same offence, all these are out of work actresses. Drag Sajid to court instead of defaming him for life.
