From bright and colourful upholstery to greenery all around; Inside Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy luxe Mumbai home

Step into the warm, welcoming world of Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy’s luxe Mumbai residence — a space brimming with colour, character, and charm. In the latest Mashable India podcast episode, the couple gave an intimate tour of their thoughtfully designed home. From high ceilings and wooden furniture to leafy balconies and cosy corners, the house perfectly balances elegance with homely comfort, all while accommodating their twin babies’ energy.

The Living Room Buzz

“This is basically the most lively zone of our house,” Pankhuri says about their vibrant living room. “Whether it’s the kids running or us watching TV, this is where all the hustle and bustle happens.” The space is filled with natural light and bursts of colour — a mix of bright upholstery, neutral tones, and textures that make it the energetic heart of their home. A truly functional space that never stays still!

3/8

The Frame TV and Soaring Ceilings

Gautam reveals, “This is actually a TV — a frame TV. It shows artwork when not in use.” What elevates the visual appeal even more is the double-height ceiling that brings in abundant sunlight. “I think what instantly attracted us was the ceiling height. It gives such a vibrant, airy feel,” Pankhuri adds. Natural warmth and a well-lit space were non-negotiables for them — and this feature ticked all the boxes.

4/8

Wooden Tones and Thoughtful Storage

“We like the wooden feel with plants and stuff,” Pankhuri explains. The home is filled with wood-textured furniture, open shelves, and smart storage units. “We both sat online and kept researching. What do we want? What don’t we want?” she laughs. The result? A warm, grounded aesthetic that’s equal parts rustic and modern — where functionality meets style.

5/8

The Unused Yet Loved Tea Corner

“This is Gautam’s dream corner,” Pankhuri shares. “He might not have sat here once, but he had to have it!” With a compact setup facing the balcony, this tea-and-coffee corner is more decorative than practical. “He really fought his way to buy this setting. I have shot more content here than he’s sipped tea,” she jokes. Still, the corner stands as a symbol of charming personal quirks.

6/8

Green-Filled Balcony and Garden Swing

“Welcome to the balcony of this house,” says Pankhuri. “Nowadays, new constructions don’t even have balconies!” Covered in artificial grass and packed with plants, their balcony is a lush oasis. “We did all the plants we could fill — it became a proper garden.” The swing? “That’s Gautam’s choice,” she laughs. A quiet green escape, perfect for moments of relaxation in the city.

A Room Made for the Twins

“Let’s go to our kids’ room — this is a labour of love,” says Pankhuri fondly. Baby-proofed with gates and full of play zones, it’s designed with the twins’ safety and fun in mind. “Our son Raditya started climbing stairs at just 7–8 months,” she says. Organized toy racks, musical instruments, and a cheerful vibe make this room as lively as its little inhabitants.

Memories and Milestones

In one quiet corner, fairy lights sparkle above an extendable sofa-cum-bed. “I did this for their birthday,” Pankhuri smiles. Personal photos — including their first shoot after being discharged from the hospital — make the space deeply sentimental. “The hospital did that for them,” she says. These moments, small yet unforgettable, are what truly turn this beautiful house into a home.
