From being upset with Laughter Chefs makers for season 2 to getting rejected for film offers for bizarre reasons; Aly Goni's journey and struggles in showbiz

Aly Goni has been one of the most adored celebrities, be it his stint with the top reality shows to the hit TV shows. Aly has only being growing. The actor now got candid about his journey and struggles in the Industry and how has he managed to bag projects that are not only fun but even completely complimenting the actor's personality.

Aly talks about doing Splitsvilla in his early days

I was barely 17 when I did Splitsvilla. Back then Roadies and Splitsvilla were huge shows and I am talking about 2010-2011. I was too young and had no idea how things worked in the Industry. I was studying in Delhi, Chandigarh and I got selected for the audition. Then I did modelling for a few years and then I came to Mumbai in 2012.

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein became a game changer in my career

I started giving auditions for TV shows and then I learnt acting on the shows. It was the directors who helped me learn. Yeh Hai Mohabbatein was the game changer in my career. Initially, it wasn't even a big show. We were given the late night slot for the show that is 11 pm. That people didn't watch but then it became hit and we had a time slot change and for 6-7 years the show was on No. 1.

Would have international shoot schedules for YHM

Nowadays, Anupamaa id staying on top. But with Yeh Hai Mohabbatein we would go to shoot on International locations every year. We would go to Australia, Bulgaria, London and all. All of us gained a lot from the show. But for me, reality shows worked better for me. Be it Khatron, Bigg Boss, Nach Baliye and now Laughter Chefs.

Aly's initially struggles with auditions

Struggles are there in all fields of work. But with acting, there is a lot of disappointment associated with it as you have to continuously keep auditioning for projects and they would call you only when you have done something before. It would even get demotivating when you go to audition and they say 'aapko nahi aa pa raha hai.'

The new age influencers

Now, people don't get to see these struggles because they are all opting for YouTube and Social Media for their skills. They aren't acting in front of 50 people and listening to the director. They wouldn't even know how the auditions happen. But back then for us it was a tough nut to crack.

7/8

I was upset with Laughter Chefs makers

Now when Laughter Chefs season 2 came, channel wanted me but then I was upset with them because the season had begun and I wasn't a part of it. I love them, the whole team and I was openly upset. Maine bol diya main naraz hu. They tried and then approached me so I discussed with Jasmin and she pushed me to do it.

8/8

I got rejected from films for bizarre reasons

The most shocking thing I have experienced is that many times I have gotten finalised for a film and then they would remove me from it. The reasons would be so bizarre like I was more good looking than the hero. I would get baffled that how should I react. I was offered a superhit film, and I was offered the negative lead and then I got dropped from the film saying that I was taller than the hero. I went through this numerous times in film. In TV it doesn't matter.
