Exclusive - Anupamaa fame Ishita Dixit opens up about handling social media criticism: 'I just live my life and want to work hard'
Actress Ishita Dixit has been getting noticed for her performance as Ishita in Anupamaa. The popular daily soap has given her an opportunity to connect with a wide audience. With growing visibility, however, comes another reality that most actors deal with today -social media scrutiny.
Speaking about how she deals with public comments and pressure on social media, Ishita admitted that there was a phase when such things affected her more than she would have liked. The actress shared that she used to pay attention to what people said about her, but over time, she realised that opinions are something no public figure can escape.
“Earlier, I was bothered by people's opinions, to be very honest,” she said.

As the years went by, Ishita developed a different outlook. She explained that social media users tend to comment on almost everything, making it impossible to control what others think or say.
“But now I don't care because everyone talks, everyone comments on something, sometimes about the body, sometimes about the weight,” she added.
Instead of spending time worrying about criticism, the actress has chosen to direct her energy towards her work. According to Ishita, acting remains the one thing that truly matters to her, and that passion helps her tune out unnecessary noise.
“I just live my life, and I just want to work and work hard,” she said.
The Anupamaa actress further revealed that her love for performing has always been her biggest source of motivation. For her, stepping into different characters and bringing stories to life is what keeps her excited about the profession.
“I don't have any other motivation in life besides acting. I just love acting. I love to act. I love to portray different characters,” Ishita shared.
While she values the support she receives from well-wishers and people close to her, she sees little reason to dwell on negativity.
“Of course, I have a lot of respect for the people I love, and I would like to work for them. But I don't want to entertain negativity,” she concluded.
For Ishita, the approach is simple today: focus on the work, keep learning, and let the results speak for themselves. Rather than getting distracted by every comment that appears online, she prefers to stay committed to the craft that first drew her towards acting.
