Exclusive - Anupamaa actor Sachin Tyagi on his on-screen chemistry with Rupali Ganguly: It is not something that can be manufactured or produced
Sachin Tyagi and Rupali Ganguly’s on-screen chemistry in Anupamaa, produced by Rajan Shahi, is earning appreciation from the viewers for the subtle ease with which their characters interact. Their pairing stands out because it feels consistent, restrained, and emotionally believable.
Talking about it, Sachin said, "Chemistry is not something that can be manufactured or concocted. We can certainly make an effort to gel better, but that is effort, not chemistry. Chemistry just exists. For me, it comes largely from my admiration for the way she approaches every scene and every shot.”
Admiring Rupali, who plays the titular role in the show, he added, “Even though I see it every day, it still feels special to watch someone put in this kind of effort unfailingly in every scene and every shot. There is an almost mad level of dedication she has brought to this character. The purity of her emotions and the way she approaches the set, the scene, and each shot is almost religious."
However, it’s not just her performance that pulls his attention, he said, “She is equally caring and concerned about each and every character. It may sound like an exaggeration, but at times it feels as though she could actually die for this role. She is that committed.”
“She is deeply attached to the life that Anupamaa has given her and to every single person involved with the show, whether it is Rajan Shahi, members of the unit, fellow actors, or even the dogs on set. Woh toh pagalpan hi hai. That is the level of dedication she brings to her work,” he added.
For Sachin, this kind of energy naturally extends into how relationships are formed off-screen as well. He said, "People do not really want much in life. I think all most people want is love, respect, and a little attention. Instead of expecting these things from others, I try to give them to people, and then they are yours.”
“It's fairly simple, though not necessarily easy to have a good relationship with someone, to build a rapport, the basics are love and respect. Once you lay that foundation, everything just flows organically. And nothing can really pull you apart,” he added.
