Dipika Kakar gets emotional after cyst removal surgery, says “joh ye reoccurrence hua hai uske baad main thoda sa ghabra gayi hoon"

Sasural Simar Ka actress Dipika Kakar has been facing health challenges since last year. She was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2025 and underwent surgery to remove the tumour. During her recovery, she was diagnosed with a 1.3 cm cyst in her liver last month. This setback has shaken her, and she is currently trying to cope with the situation. Dipika, who keeps her fans updated about her life, recently shared a new vlog on her YouTube channel expressing her feelings bout her health crisis. Dipika spoke openly about her health and shared that she has been feeling worried. (Photo: Dipika YouTube channel)

Deeply affected by the cyst's recurrence

At the same time, she highlighted how strongly women manage everything, even while going through so many changes in their bodies. In her video, Dipika shared that she shot many clips over the last few days but couldn't make her vlog because she is deeply affected by the cyst's recurrence. (Photo: Dipika YouTube channel)

Main thoda sa ghabra gayi hoon

She said, "As such koi reason nahi he, matlab main agar honestly aapko bolu toh mere jo ye reoccurrence hua hain… woh chota cyst jo 1.3 cm ka aya hain, uske baad main thodi hil gayi hoon. It has shook me, main thoda sa ghabra gayi hoon ki aisa kyu hua (Honestly, after the recurrence—the small 1.3 cm cyst—I’ve been quite shaken. It has really affected me, and I do feel a bit scared). I keep wondering why it happened and hope it doesn’t happen again. I’ve started following a specific diet and taking extra precautions, but yes, there is still some fear.” (Photo: Dipika YouTube channel)

Dipika applauds women for managing everything

Dipika went on to applaud women who manage everything in life despite going through hormonal changes and other issues, "There’s a lot going on right now. During this time, I’ve also stepped out, spoken to many people, and had several conversations. One thing I’ve truly realised is that women are much stronger than we think. Our bodies are so complex, and yet we handle everything as part of our daily lives—and that itself deserves appreciation. From hormonal changes and monthly cycles to different phases of life, our bodies go through so much—mood swings, skin issues, hair fall, and more. Despite all this, we continue to manage everything and carry on with our lives smoothly.” (Photo: Dipika YouTube channel)

Shoaib often holds himself back

The actress also shares how after her illness things have changed at home, "As a woman, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, and as Dipika, there’s a lot going on in my mind right now because of my illness, things have changed at home too. Shoaib often holds himself back, thinking he shouldn’t leave me alone," she said. (Photo: Dipika YouTube channel)

Feeling fatigued and not able to give time to Ruhaan

Dipika added that she is not able to give enough time to her son because on days when she is fatigued she goes to sleep, she said, "At the same time, I sometimes feel I’m not able to give enough time to Ruhaan or take care of him the way I want to. There are days when I feel so tired that I just go to sleep, and if I’m in the hospital, I can’t be with him at all. When you’re dealing with a health issue, your routine changes and so do your priorities. When your body needs rest, you simply have to listen to it. All these thoughts keep running through my mind.” (Photo: Instagram)

Line of treatment

She ended the video by saying that she is confident she will overcome this phase. Dipika also revealed the line-up of treatment, she said, "For the past few days, we have been discussing what the next line of treatment should be. Some new tests are being done because no one expected the recurrence to happen so quickly. There are constant discussions with the doctors as well. At times, it all feels a bit overwhelming.” (Photo: Dipika YouTube channel)

Dipika urges husbands to look after their wives

These are the thoughts that have been on my mind. Today, I just wanted to open my heart and share everything with you. In the past few days, I’ve realised that women go through so much—whether it’s dealing with an illness, handling family responsibilities, or going through phases like menopause or perimenopause. Despite all of this, we continue to stay strong and keep smiling, which is truly remarkable. So, to all the men out there, please take good care of the women in your lives, just like my husband takes care of me.
