Cinema is a medium that has given me wings to fly in an open sky with no limits: Aashiesh Sharrma on switching from TV to films

Aashiesh Sharrma has played varied roles across mediums in his more than a decade old career. He made his debut in showbiz with the Bollywood film Love Sex Aur Dhoka in 2012 and then switched to small screen to satisfy his creative desire. After being a part of big shows like Shree Ram, Prithvi Vallabh, Chandragupta Maurya, the actor once again decided to shift focus to the big screen, and he is enjoying the process.

Shares Aashiesh, “You never know how life is going to shape up in the future. And when it’s about your creative expression, you just have to follow your passion. I think cinema is a medium that has given me wings to fly in an open sky with no limits. Here, I am an actor, a story-teller, a producer- all at the same time. While on TV, I felt I had done everything I could on the medium. There was nothing left to add to it.” Away from TV for the past five years, Aashiesh has been busy with films and he loves the kind of cinema he is doing. “I always take time to do what I choose. Here, I want to choose socially- relevant subjects. As a creative person, I love to be a part of stories which have their relevance in today’s scenario.”

The actor was recently seen visiting Rajasthan’s Salasar Balaji temple with his wife actress Archana T Sharma and his parents. Talking about his trip, he says, “Visiting this temple has been a family affair since my grandfather. He used to go every Poornima to pay his respects to Balaji. Now he is old and can’t go there. I grew up visiting Balaji temple and taking his blessings before any important occasion in our lives. After marriage, the first thing Archana and I did was to go to Balaji and take his blessings.”

All set for a new project, the actor went to seek divine blessings of God. He says, "I would like to stick to my traditions and values. For me, it’s a part of my life and these are the values I’ve grown up with. There's a special project coming up, so I took its poster to Balaji and took his blessings.”
