CID re-run: ACP Pradyuman Singh-Daya are back to investigate and break doors, a look at the popular characters from the show

CID, one of the cult shows that ran for almost 22 years on the television, is all set for its re-run during the lockdown period. Like other popular shows from the 80s and the 90s, CID, too, is being re-telecast for entertainment purposes. The show was spearheaded by veteran actor Shivaji Satam, who played the role of ACP Pradhyuman. The detective drama was popular to a degree that it had reruns while it was still on air. Now that it is all set for a comeback, let's take a look at who played what in this show:

Shivaji Satam played the role of ACP Pradyuman Singh throughout the 22 years that the show went on air. He had a common dialogue that he would often say, "Kuch toh gadbad hai" with the inquisitive hand gesture. In an interview with BT, Shivaji spoke about its rerun and said, "It makes me happy and joyous that people will again get to see and experience CID. It ran for 22 years -- that’s not something you can achieve with poor content. Our stories were so engaging for people. Everywhere I go today, people recognise me as ACP. It was such a good experience for us as actors because we became a large family. The show saw so many actors come and go. It will be fun to relive all of that." (Photo: Instagram)

Dayanand Shetty played the character of Senior inspector Daya in the detective drama. He was known for breaking the doors of every suspect found in the show. Daya was a sportsperson before entering showbiz. The famous dialogue was ;Daya darwaza todh do.'

Aditya Srivastava was Senior inspector Abhijeet. He, too worked with ACP Pradyuman Singh along with Daya. Abhijeet had the habit of holding his chin and tapping his finger indicating that he was thinking something. (Photo: Instagram)

Dinesh Phadnis portrayed the role of Inspector Freddy. While Daya and Abhijeet were too good and serious about their jobs, Freddy added a humorous pinch to the show.
