Channa Mereya actor Kanwalpreet Singh on how he bagged his first project, ‘I was street shopping when a few people approached me asking if I could act’

Actor Kanwalpreet Singh, who is currently seen in Channa Mereya, revealed how he bagged his first role.The actor says, “It was a filmy scene. I was street shopping and suddenly a car stopped by, 2-3 people came out and asked me if I could act. I instantly said yes. They took my number and offered me a music video. The shoot happened after 2-3 days and it was a hit song with Sukshinder Shinda. I am glad that I took the opportunity. We see something we've been waiting and preparing for - and here it is! Yay. People talk about opportunity 'knocking' on your door, but in reality, opportunity is everywhere, we just have to be ready to recognise it.”Talking about his journey, the actor says, "I hail from Chandigarh and have done an MBA. My mom is a banker and dad is a scientist. Since childhood, I have always wanted to become an actor. I participated in all possible extra-curricular activities during my school and college days. Then I came to Mumbai in search of work. I have struggled a lot initially to get work in the industry but I faced endless rejections."Currently, the actor is busy shooting for the show Channa Mereya. "I am happy to be a part of Channa Mereya. Working with such brilliant actors is really amazing. I'm really excited and thankful to the makers for giving me this opportunity. I'm acting in a different shade of the character, so I hope that people will like my work," he says.Kanwalpreet has previously acted in Punjabi films and TV shows like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Vilayti Bhabhi, Rabb Se Sona Ishq, Nadaan Parindey, and others. He also made an interesting appearance in Tiger Shroff starrer, Heropanti 2.
