Bigg Boss 16's Sajid Khan, Shalin Bhanot and other contestants who were mired in controversies even before entering the BB house

Every year, Bigg Boss contestants have some shocking controversies attached to their names. The show invites some of the most controversial personalities as contestants. Even with the current season, the following contestants made some controversial and stirring headlines before entering the house.

After nine women in the industry who had collaborated with him on his numerous productions accused the director of sexual harassment, Sajid became embroiled in the #MeToo scandal in 2018. The accusations against him were made by actresses like Saloni Chopra, Sherlyn Chopra, Aahana Kumra, and Mandana Karimi, among others.

The fairytale marriage of TV stars Daljiet Kaur and Shalin Bhanot found a snag soon after their nuptials in 2009, resulting in a protracted divorce that was finally resolved in 2015 with their formal separation. Ex-Bigg Boss contestant Daljiet Kaur cited her ex-husband Shalin Bhanot's alleged abuse of her as the reason for their breakup.

Shalin allegedly never used to accompany Daljeet to the doctor, despite the fact that she struggled with severe asthma while pregnant. Daljeet reported that Shalin didn't even want her to have a C-Section and accused her of trying to sway the physicians. The actress once went so far as to reveal that Shalin was abusive against her from the beginning, even in front of her parents.

According to sources, Tina Datta was close to Mahesh Kumar Jaiswal and Businessman Paresh Mehta. The actress disclosed in her interviews that she had been in an abusive relationship for five years without mentioning specific individuals.

When his ex-girlfriend Auzma Shaikh said he sent goons to assault her, MC Stan got into problems. Following their breakup in March, Auzma reportedly received rape threats allegedly from MC Stan's fans when he exposed her address on social media. She also shared his manager's name and residence on social media. It prompted MC Stan to complain about her. Later, Stan's fans allegedly attacked Auzma, and during their altercation, she sustained facial injuries. She then lodged a police report against him.

In 2017, Gori Nagori performed for Rajasthan University, she danced with some bold steps due to which the student's parents questioned the authorities for calling her to perform while the kids were watching. This created a major controversy for Gori as this stirred her other bookings too.

Due to health difficulties, Nimrit had to quit the show Choti Sarrdaarni. She told her followers that taking a 40-day vacation was more of a need than a choice. Nimrit's decision to concentrate on her mental health and take a break mid-show was praised as a brave gesture for a rookie. Nimrat recalled that due to a lack of understanding surrounding mental health, people were unable to comprehend her condition. She continued by stating that although everyone is familiar with the phrases anxiety and depression, she was given the diagnosis of "brain burnout."

Sumbul Touqeer decided to quit Imlie, one of the most loved shows on Indian television, while it was running successfully. This decision of Sumbul has left her fans in shock and added questions about her exit from the show with Fahmaan Khan. Later, the actress got introduced as a contestant on Bigg Boss.

The disagreement over who should play the lead heroine in the television series 'Uttaran' led to a cold war between Tina and Sreejita while they were portraying Meethi and Mukta, respectively. During that time, Tina attempted to justify in one of her interviews back then that she is the centre of attention.

Sreejita, too, reacted to Tina's claims saying a show cannot run with a single actor and anyone claiming so is being 'extremely childish and immature'.

Priyanka and Ankit quit the successfully running show 'Udaariyaan' as it leads, owing to the generation leap. The reason that was shared was that they didn't want to play parents to the next generation. Later, the duo decided to participate in Bigg Boss 16 together.
