Bigg Boss 14 to The Kapil Sharma Show; these reality and non-fiction TV shows will soon be back on-screen

The lockdown has been lifted earlier in June and the entertainment industry has once again resumed work after a break of over 100 days. With daily soaps already airing fresh episodes, here’s a look the non-fiction and reality shows that are all set to air soon.

Kapil Sharma and his team comprising Bharti Singh, Archana Puran Singh, Sumona Chakravarti, Kiku Sharda are back with their family comedy show featuring celebrities from all walks of life. The show will be back with fresh episodes this weekend onwards and Sonu Sood is going to be the first guest.

The most controversial reality show Bigg Boss will be back with its 14th edition. It is going to ‘Lockdown special’ show this season featuring an all-celebrity line-up. Celebs like Jasmin Bhasin and Neha Sharma have been approached. Reportedly, celebs will enjoy special priviledges, which were not a part of precious seasons. The reality show is expected to air in September.

A mini-series of Khatron Ke Khiladi is coming up featuring actors – Karan Wahi, Nia Sharma, Jasmin Bhasin, Rithvik Dhanjani, Haarsh Limbachiyya and Aly Goni. As the name suggests, the show is shot in India and will be hosted by director Farah Khan. Farah, who has also judged reality shows such as Indian Idol, Nach Baliye, and cookery shows, says that she agreed to host this show in a flash of a second.

Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh have now teamed up for a new show Funhit Mein Jaari. Krushna also gave a glimpse of his new show with the caption: "Shooting after sooooo long. Things have changed on set sanitizing hands after every ten minutes keeping distance with others clothes r washed in every lunch and dinner breaks staff with kits totally covered and not hanging around with us . This is our upcoming show funhit mein jaari."

The new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati will happen in the second half of this year. Earlier in May and June, online registrations took place. Host Amitabh Bachchan had also shot promos, registration announcement and questions for audiences from home.

The singing reality show Indian Idol season 12 is all set to return on the small screen in the last quarter of 2020. While every year the judges and anchor would personally visit cities across India to motivate young talent to participate, this year the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a change in the show’s format. This year, virtual auditions will be held and participants will have to audition from their own homes for the show. The online auditions started July 25 onwards.
