Bhagya Lakshmi actress Maera Mishra hospitalised after being diagnosed with dengue
Maera Mishra, who plays Malishka Bedi in Bhagya Lakshmi, has been diagnosed with dengue. The actress had to be hospitalised three days ago after her health deteriorated.
She says, “I felt feverish two days before Diwali while shooting for the show. However, I dismissed it as a viral fever. I went to my hometown, Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), to celebrate Diwali with my family and didn’t pay much attention to my health. I returned to Mumbai on October 26 and started shooting the following day. I started feeling sick again and got a high fever. The production team asked me to go home immediately and told me to rest. I returned to the set the next day even though I was unwell. That’s when my brother asked me to undergo a test. I did it on the set and by evening, I knew that I had dengue.”
She is currently in the hospital and recovering. She says, “My platelet count at the moment is low and I am feeling extremely weak. I am on a liquid diet. Fortunately, my brother and my bhabhi are here with me and taking care of me. I am hoping to be discharged in a couple of days.”
Since Maera plays an important character in Bhagya Lakshmi, the production team had to work on the storyline at the last minute. She says, “They were quite confused and stressed, as the ongoing track focused on my character. But they have been extremely accommodating and told me to take care of my health first.”
