‘When I was 16 we only had Doordarshan and there weren’t many shows and shows to watch on TV. Some time later Hum Log came in and it caught everybody’s fancy.
It was something very new for the viewers. I liked watching the serial too. There were some good performances in it and the story too was quite interesting. It used to be a family affair with our neighbours coming over to our place to watch these programmes.Another show that was very popular was Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan, a talk show by Tabassum, where she interviewed all the biggies of the industry. So from Monday to Friday, all of us would wait for it to be 6 pm because it was only after that these shows came on. ’
