These onscreen villains receive hate in real life from the audience

Television has a different and religious fanbase. The fans take the characters personally and anyone harming them onscreen falls into their bad books. At times, they fail to maintain the line between reel and real and end up hating the antagonists in reality. While none of the actors would want to receive hate from the fans, here's a list of onscreen villains who are loathed for their character. (Photos - Instagram)

Anupamaa - Vanraj

Sudhanshu Pandey, who plays the role of a 'male chauvinist' in Anupamaa, is hated for his character, Vanraj. The actor gets trolled for ruining his former wife Anupamaa's life on the show. In an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, Sudhanshu shared that he receives hate mails for playing Vanraj. He said, "I receive a lot of hate mails and messages. But it all depends on how you look at it. It is human to get disturbed by the kind of comments and the trolling that you face. But at the same time, if you look at the kind of attachment the audience has with the character, they deeply get affected by everything that the character does. For instance, Anuj’s character has been made into a very good man, so people tend to believe that he is actually like that. When Vanraj is behaving in a certain way, they tend to believe that I am actually that person. That is where the trolling comes from. It is disturbing but if this trolling doesn’t happen I get really worried because then it means my character is dying. It is very important to get trolled and it is also very important to make sure that the audience loves you obviously but they should also hate your character to an extent that they start sympathising with other characters because of Vanraj. If there is no hatred towards Vanraj, where is the love? That’s how I look at it."

Ghum Hai Kiskey Pyaar Meiin - Pakhi

Aishwarya Sharma essays the character of Pakhi in Ghum Hai Kiskey Pyaar Meiin. She's often been at the receiving end of hate and trolling on social media because her onscreen character is the villain in Sai (Ayesha Sharma) and Virat's (Neil Bhat) life. Interestingly, Aishwarya is Neil's wife in real life and she has been vocal about the negative comments she receives. On the show, Smart Jodi, Aishwarya had said, people even asked Neil why was he getting married to me. "Yeh kaun hai? Isse shaadi kyun kar rahi ho? Bahut gandi aurat hai yeh, bahut saari gaaliyaan. Tumko toh mar jaana chahiye corona se," said the actress.

Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 - Vedika

Vedika (Reena Aggarwal) was seen as Ram Kapoor's (Nakuul Mehta) former flame. While Priya (Disha Parmar) and Ram got married, Vedika is filled with vengeance and would go to any extent to get the love of her life back. In between, the loyal fans of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 even complained that Vedika gets more screen time than Ram and Priya. Talking to a portal about the hate coming her way, Reena had said that this means she is doing her job very well.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai - Aarohi

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one of the longest-running TV shows and the love triangle between Aarohi, Akshara, and Abhi kept everyone glued to their screens. Ever since Abhi (Harshad Chopda) revealed that he loves Akshara (Pranali Rathod), Aarohi has taken the wrong route. While #AbhiRa's wedding preparations are in full swing, Aarohi is putting her best foot forward to jinx it.

Udaariyaan - Jasmin

Jasmin (Isha Malviya), who loved Fateh (Ankit Gupta), turned into a grey character after his marriage to her sister, Tejo (Priyanka Chahar Choudhary). Jasmin was hurt that Fateh left her to marry Tejo and left no stone unturned to separate them. She received hate for coming in between them. However, after Jasmin's marriage to Amrik, the hate subsided.

Kundali Bhagya - Prithvi Malhotra

Sanjay Gagnani has been seen as the villain, Prithvi Malhotra in the show, Kundali Bhagya. Prithvi was supposed to Preeta but fate had something else planned and Karan Luthra took the 'pheras' with Preeta. Since then, Prithvi has been hell-bent on destroying Karan and his family's life.
