Aly Goni and other celebs remember Sushant Singh Rajput on 2nd death anniversary; reminiscing his work on TV, unseen photos

On actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s second death anniversary today (June 14), fans, family and followers are remembering him. Many celebs have taken to social media to remember him. As the late actor made his debut with television, here’s a look at his works, heartfelt notes from celebs, unseen moments and more:

Actor Aly Goni remembered Sushant Singh Rajput as he tweeted #SSR with a broken heart emoji.

Kanwar Dhillon, who stars in Pandya Store, took to Twitter to remember him. His tweet read, “2 years since a powerhouse of talent & incredible human left this world!! #SushantSinghRajput #SSR.”

Mishthi Tyagi wrote a long note remembering him. Her note read, “Dear sushant @sushantsinghrajput It's been 2 years now and I never posted any pics of you and me I never wrote anything about you I never expressed my feelings but now I hav accepted the fact that you are no more so today i m writing this letter to you because this is how you communicate thru music, tv and social media I wan to tell u lot of things and there is so much to share but pls don't judge me if thr is any grammatical mistake because my English is not as good as yours . I jus wanted to tell you that I miss you and I miss you a lot and even you know it because whenever I ask any question you never fail to reply.”

The actor, who came from a theatre background, made his debut on TV with the show - Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil (2008). He played the role of Preet Juneja. His character was killed quite early in the show, but he was such a popular character with the viewers that he was brought back for the series finale in the form of a spirit.

It was Ekta Kapoor show Pavitra Rishta, which earned Sushant many accolades and fandom as well. He became famous instantly with his role as Manav Deshmukh. Here, he was paired opposite Ankita Lokhande. There was no looking back for Sushant after this show. He won several awards in the Best actor and Popular Male actor category during his TV days.

The show created an emotional connection with the audience. Its characters Manav and Archana, played by Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande went on to be the most-loved onscreen pairs. Ekta in a post long back had written how she convinced Sushant to the channel: This show was a chance @zeetv gave us based on a show #tirumatiselvum ! Wanted to cast a boy as lead who was doing second lead on our other show ! D creative in zee was adamant he dint look d part ! We@convinced them his smile wud win a million hearts.....and it did @sushantsinghrajput (sic)

During college days, Sushant was a student at Shiamak Davar’s dance academy. After proving his acting skills, Sushant wanted to show his dancing skills. He took part in Zara Nachke Dikha and later in December 2010, Sushant participated in another dance-based reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4, where he was paired with choreographer Shampa Sonthalia. He became 1st runner-up.

During Pavitra Rishta, the actor was dating his co-star Ankita Lokhande and the two were in a relationship for six years. In 2016, the couple called off their relationship. Post his demise, Ankita spoke about how her now husband Vicky Jain’s helped her cope up with the loss and trolls.
