There has been a long list of non-fiction shows on Bengali TV which managed to win the hearts of viewers. Way before the concept of reality shows, small screen had some popular shows which ran for a long time and enjoyed huge popularity till the end. Some stood out for their interesting concept, some reached the peak of popularity because of its hosts and some had both. Pretty soon, Bengali television is going to welcome yet another game show hosted by none other than actress Indrani Halder. Dadagiri Unlimited

Sourav Ganguly-hosted ‘Dadagiri’ is probably one of the most popular non-fiction shows that has been running for almost a decade now. All 9 seasons have been equally popular, making it one of the high-rated shows Bengali TV has ever seen. While Dada himself is the main reason for its popularity the content team works really hard to find out interesting questions for every episode. Moreover, the show welcomes commoners and celebrities as the participants. From Sachin Tendulkar to Shah Rukh Khan, the show has welcomed many eminent personalities. It also has an Odia remake. ​'Ebong Rituparno' and 'Ghosh & Co.'

Hosted by late director Rituparno Ghosh, both the talk shows were very popular among the audience. The shows welcomed many eminent personalities, who showcased their up, close and personal side while opening up with the host in a candid chat. 'Ebong Rituparno' was aired in 2004 and it received a massive response from the audience. Aired in 2008, 'Ghosh and Co.', welcomed many guests including Aparna Sen, Kalyan Roy, Shobha De-Dilip De, Mousumi Chatterjee, Babul Supriyo, Nachiketa, Shreya Ghoshal and Mir. Rojgere ginni

The show indeed was a popular show. The first season went on-air in 2001 and ran till 2012. The format was quite interesting back in early 2000. The team used to visit the house of the female contestants, ‘Ginnis’, who along with their family members would then play different rounds. Some were solo rounds some were family rounds. Happy Parents' Day

Hosted by Debshankar Halder, ‘Happy Parents’ Day’ was one of the most-loved non-fiction shows on Bengali small screen. The participants used to appear on the show with their parents. Didi No. 1

There is no doubt that ‘Didi No. 1’ enjoys a huge fan base. Be it urban viewers or audiences from the remote areas of Bengal, the show is loved by a vast audience.
