‘Making people laugh is the real challenge’

“Making people laugh is the real challenge for an actor. You have to fine tune your performance and should never go overboard. Your performance should make the viewers laugh automatically and should look like you are forcing them. And there lies the real challenge,” says the actress.

Why comedy-drama

Misty featured in a number of family dramas including ‘Joyee’, ‘Sarbamangala’, 'Ke Apon Ke Por'. And after being a part of a number of family dramas, Misty is enjoying being a part of a comedy-drama. “Light-hearted comedy has a special essence. We all have a lot of stress in our lives. As a viewer, I would like to watch something that makes me laugh and helps me forget all the worries. That’s why, I always look forward to be a part of a comedy-drama,’’ says Misty. It all started with a dream

Misty was quite young when she shared the screen with Satabi Roy as a child artist. Since then, she gently nurtured the dream of becoming an actress. “I was really young when I worked in a film with Satabdi Roy. It encouraged me to dream. But being a part of a middle-class joint family, I had to abide by some rules. I was asked to concentrate on my education first and then think about making a career in acting,” she adds. Misty made her debut with TV show 'Ghete Ghaw', which was again a comedy-drama.

'Snehasish da advised me to prepare first'

After her first show, Misty started attending auditions. She got the opportunity to meet producer Snehasish Chakraborty. Being a veteran in this industry, he gave some advice to Misty. “Snehasish is more like a teacher to me. I was really young and naïve when I first met him. I was asked whether I know dance or swimming. I honestly replied that I don’t know any of these. He explained how important it is to prepare yourself to achieve your goal. He asked me to learn swimming, dancing, cycling and gave me three months,” shares the actress. Later, Misty bagged a role in ‘Bhojogobindo’, produced by Snehasish. Misty's current project 'Gangaram' is also produced by him. (Photo: Facebook)

It has been a learning experience

“I stepped into this industry quite young and it’s been a major learning experience for me. I have tasted both success and failure. One thing is for sure, that there is no alternative of working hard.”
