Here’s all you need to know about Rituparna Sengupta starrer show ‘Debi Doshomohabidya’

On Mahalaya, all leading Bengali television channels are ready with their special offerings. From casting big movie stars to experimenting with the style of narrations, the makers are ready with their special offerings on Mahalaya. One of the most talked-about TV programs is ‘Debi Doshomohabidya’, which will feature none other than Rituparna Sengupta. Other popular faces from TV will play other avatars of the Goddess. This Mahalaya, on Bengali television, is certainly going to be a special one. It is the first time, the actress, who has been an essential part of Tollywood for a long time now, will be seen playing Maa Durga on small screen. She has played Debi Durga in different stage shows, and enthralled the audience with her Goddess avatar in photoshoots but, this is the first time, Bengali viewers will see her on the small screen as ‘Mahishasuramardini’. Interestingly most of the popular Bengali film artists including Indrani Halder, Indrani Dutta, Koel Mallik, Subhashree Ganguly, Mimi Chakraborty had played Goddess Durga on television. In fact, some of these popular artists had played the role more than once on TV. But, somehow, Tollywood’s most favourite and successful actress Rituparna wasn’t seen in this avatar on the small screen prior to this. Nevertheless, ‘Debi Doshomohabidya’ will fulfil fans’ dream this year. Draped in a red saree, heavy jewellery, the actress looked beautiful as the Goddess. Viewers will see her dance performances too as the show incorporates many dance routines.

The senior artist is essaying Lord Shiva in this Mahalaya special TV show. As Shiv-Parbati, Samrat and Rituparna look convincing on-screen.

Model and actor Saurav Chakrabarti, who is a popular face in Mumbai circuit, has been roped in by the makers for Mahisasur’s role. This is the first time Saurav will be seen in a Mahalaya special show.

Actress Adrija Addy Roy is playing Debi Bhubaneshwari. The costume and make-up were beautifully done. She looked beautiful in the costume and make-up.

Aindrila Sharma is also a part of TV show ‘Debi Doshomohabidya’. She will essay Debi Matangi.

Known for her natural acting and dance skill, actress Rimjhim Mitra is also essaying an avatar of the Goddess in this special television show. She is playing Debi Bhairabi.

Titiksha Das, who made her debut with TV show ‘Dutta and Bouma’, will feature in ‘Debi Doshomohabidya’ too. She will play Debi Bogolamukhi.

Debadrita Basu, aka Joyee is playing ‘Chinnamsta’. It took hours to complete her makeup prior to the shoot and she looked completely unrecognisable in the avatar of the Goddess.

Sairity Banerjee, as Debi Dhumabati, looks completely unrecognisable. The actress is looking forward to her fans’ reaction once the show goes on air.

Actress Sanghamitra Talukdar is playing Tara in 'Debi Doshomohabidya'.

Shruti Das, who became a household name playing the titular role in ‘Trinayani’, will be seen on the small screen after quite some time. In ‘Debi Doshomohabidya’, she will essay Goddess Kali.
