Exclusive! Mother’s Day 2022: Bengali actors Suman Dey, Adrija Addy Roy, Rudrajit Mukherjee and others speak about their pillar of strength

“Mom is my universe. She is my best friend, confidante, and the biggest support. Whenever I am in a dilemma, I seek her suggestion, be it my personal life, new projects, or financial matter. She is the final decision maker in my life. Moms can foresee what we can’t. To be very honest, whatever I am today, is because of my parents’ blessings,” says actor Suman Dey.

“No word can express the gratitude I have towards my mom. Nothing makes sense without her, nothing is complete without her,” says Promita. The actress also spoke about her mom-in-law who has become one her strongest supports. “I am really lucky to have her in my life. She is the biggest support in my life,” she adds.

Sayan left his job to be an actor. Other than his mom, he couldn’t share the secret with anyone when he decided to resign from a reputed company. “Mom has been my biggest support. When I decided to quit my job, she is the only one with whom I could share my decision. Mom supported me throughout. Mothers make numerous sacrifices throughout their lives and without them, we are nothing. For me, Maa is akin to the universe,” says the actor who will soon be seen in ‘Tumpa Autowali’.

The actress became really emotional while speaking about mom. “When I started my career, mom and Thakuma (grandmother) were the two people in my life who knew about it. Initially, I used to lie to others about attending auditions or photoshoots because of fear. Mom and Thakuma used to guard me. Mom took leaves from the office to accompany me to the auditions, gave me money for photoshoots and made sacrifices so that I can live my dream. So, yes! She is my universe.”

Pilu actor, whose movie starring Mimi Chakraborty premiered recently, turned emotional while speaking about Mother's Day. He said, “My life isn’t complete without parents. They brought me into the world, held my hands tightly, taught me how to face an adverse situation, stay strong, chase my dream, and all other important lessons. My universe crumbled when I lost dad but mom held my hands tight. I am nothing without them.”

Dona, who made her debut with ‘Mompalok’, is ready to play the lead in ‘Tumpa Autowali’. She doesn’t believe in celebrating a particular day to express her gratitude to mom. “There can’t be a single day to express our gratitude towards our mothers. They make enormous sacrifices and compromises to make us happy. They never let us see their pain and guard us with love and affection. I am and will always be indebted to her. She truly is my world,” adds Dona.
