Children’s day special: Jhilik to Bhutu here are the on-screen characters who stole our hearts

Primetime television is no longer solely ruled by bahus like, ‘Bokul’ or ‘Joba’. ‘Jhilik’, ‘Bhutu’, ‘Gopal’ stole our hearts with their innocent smile. These children have made the viewers laugh with their mischievous activities. When they cried, the audience cried too. On Children’s day here are the kids who ruled our hearts:

Jhilik:

Tithi Bose aka little Jhilik became a household name overnight with the television serial, ‘Maa… Tomaye Chara Ghum Asena’. The beautiful relationship between Mohua Halder and little Tithi melted viewer's heart. In 2009, when the show was launched, there was hardly a Bengali household, where watching this serial wasn’t a ritual. The show was one of the highest TRP garners and ruled the small screen from 2009-2014. Following the formula of mega serials, Jhilik grew up but little Jhilik still lives in viewer’s hearts. Bhutu:

How can one ever forget little Bhutu, the sweet little ghost wearing an over sized shirt. Arshiya Mukherjee, who played the character Bhutu, was loved by the audience for her innocent smile and mischievous activities. Seeing the success of the television show, it was remade into Hindi as well and Arshiya plays the lead character in this show. (Photo: Facebook)

Potol:

Hiya Dey aka Potol stole the hearts instantly with her acting skills. Potol Kumar’s zeal to find out her father always made our eyes moist. Later, Potol aka Poteshwari grew up but the little Potol is still fresh in our mind. The show was an instant hit and a Hindi serial (Kulfi Kumar Bajewala) has also been made later. (Photo: Facebook)

Gopal:

Raktim Samanata became popular as the anchor of ‘Dance Bangla Dance Junior’. The little boy stunned the audience with his acting skills in the serial ‘Gopal Bhar’. From a boy-next-door to the witty 'Gopal', Raktim’s transformation is quite interesting. Thanks to the simple story telling and Raktim’s innocence, the show became quite popular. (Photo: Facebook)

Rakhi:

Little Krittika Chakraborty is cute as a button. The little girl emerged to be a talented actress as she portrayed the character Rakhi in the serial ‘Rakhi Bandhan’. The show revolves around the bonding of a brother and sister Bandhan and Rakhi and how they sacrifice for each other. Young actor Soham Basu Roy played the character Bandhan. The show has recently gone through a time leap and both Rakhi and Bandhan have grown up but these young talents are still fresh in the viewer’s mind. (Photo: Facebook)

Parbati:

Sinchana Sarkar played the character ‘Parbati’ in the serial ‘Gopal Bhar’. Her on-screen chemistry with Gopal, reminded us the relationship between ‘Tom and Jerry’. Parbati aka Sinchana entertained the audience with her mischievous activities. (Photo: Facebook)

Amloki:

Little girl Amloki became popular right after the promo was out. The little girl is full of life although she can’t speak. Child actor Aishwarya Roy is playing the character Amloki and stunned the audience with her acting skills. With her curly hair, printer frock and an innocent smile, Amloki is still entertaining the audience. (Photo: Facebook)

Jharon:

Although, the family drama ‘Phoolmoni’ wasn’t a hit like ‘Bhutu’ or ‘Potol Kuram Gaanwala’, little Jharon stole a million hearts. The character was essayed by child artist Shubhranshi. With her innocent smile, little Jharon is still a heartthrob. (Photo: Facebook)
