Anamika Chakraborty-Uday Pratap Singh to Shruti Das-Swarnendu Samaddar: Bengali TV celebs who kept their wedding a private affair

Move over big fat celebrity weddings. Keeping ‘D day’ simple and intimate is the latest trend celebs are following these days. A number of Bollywood stars went for a simple wedding, ditching extravagant events and a long list of heavy-weight invitees. They kept their big day away from public glare, a simple, yet dreamy affair attended by family and close friends. Tolly Para seems to be falling in love with the same idea. A number of popular artists chose to keep their wedding an intimate affair. Some of them also surprised industry peers and fans by directly sharing their relationship updates on social media. Take a look... (Photo: Facebook)

Manali Manisha Dey-Abhimanyu Mukherjee

Let’s keep it simple and sweet, seems to be Manali-Abhimanyu's thought when the duo had their registry in August, 2020. In the presence of Manali’s father, her granddad, Abhimanyu’s father, and a few other relatives, the duo got hitched at their home. Their friends and fans were in for a pleasant surprise when the newlyweds posted pictures flaunting their thumbs with ink impressions. Abhimanyu and Manali not only ditched extravagant wedding venues and rituals, they chose simple outfits for their big day too. At that time, lockdown restrictions were imposed because of COVID and Abhiamnyu’s mom and brother couldn’t attend their registry wedding since they were stuck in Mumbai. In September, they had yet another cosy wedding ceremony where rituals like 'Malabodol' and 'Sindoordaan' were performed. Later, after the restrictions were a bit relaxed, the couple hosted a party for their friends and industry peers. Indeed Mr. and Mrs. Mukherjee showed Tollywood how to keep it simple yet rich in love! (Photo: Facebook)

Ankita Chakraborty and Prantik Banerjee

While most of the celeb couples choose five star hotels as their wedding venue and thousands of people to witness their holy matrimony, this couple chose mountains to be the witness. They got married in Sikkim. The duo, accompanied by their friends, and family, went to Sikkim prior to the wedding where their buddies made necessary arrangements for the big day. It was a simple yet dreamy ceremony, soaked in love. (Photo: Facebook)

Ipshita Mukherjee-Arnab Banerjee

This couple made headlines quite a few times for their relationship. First, they surprised fans by getting hitched in a homely ceremony. In 2022, the duo had their registry marriage and attendees were mostly family members and friends. Their peer groups were surprised when Ipsita changed her relationship status from Ms. to Mrs. Then, fans were in crude shock earlier this year, when the reports of their splitting up came out. But finally, the actors worked on their differences and currently, things are pretty well in Mr. and Mrs. Banerjee’s life. (Photo: Facebook)

Uday Pratap Singh-Anamika Chakraborty

Uday and Anamika’s wedding had a special touch in every possible way. Right from the bride and groom ditching red and going for pastel shades for their big day to turning their honeymoon into a big fat trip with friends, these lovebirds surprised everyone with their choices. Their relationship was never a secret. In fact, they have always been quite open about their bond. But the duo wanted to keep their wedding a private affair. Anamika and Uday managed to keep their wedding away from public glare. The duo got hitched in a rather intimate ceremony in June. Only family members and close friends were invited. After the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Singh went on a trip to North Bengal, accompanied by Uday’s sister, and common friends of the two. Indeed, this celeb couple showed Tollywood a new way to celebrate love. (Photo: Facebook)

Shruti Das-Swarnendu Samaddar

This couple is the latest one to keep their wedding moments far away from public glare. The duo got hitched on July 9 and the ceremony was arranged at a plush venue in the city. Bride and groom wore off-white attires on their big day which was attended by only a few close people and relatives. The very next day, they went back to shooting floors just like any other day.
