A high dose of entertainment is waiting for the viewers across platforms. Not just silver screen or television, the makers have a long list of offerings on OTT platforms too, right from new web series, platform-specific original movies to digital premieres. Adding more excitement, recently released comedy film, ‘Abar Bibaho Obhijaan’ is now ready to have its digital premiere on July 21. It has an ensemble star cast that includes an array of popular artists. Actors Ankush Hazra, Nusraat Faria, Anirban Bhattacharya, Rudranil Ghosh, Priyanka Sarkar and Sohini Sarkar played led roles in this movie which was released in theatres in May, this year. It’s the second installment of the movie ‘Bibaho Obhijaan’ franchise. The first part was released in 2019.
The story of ‘Bibaho Obhijaan’ follows friends Anupam (played by Ankush) and Rajat (by Rudranil) who are eager to get married. Rajat marries Maya a religious girl who is always busy performing one ritual or the other. Otherwise, she keeps herself busy by watching melodramatic soap operas. Anupam marries Rai, a women's activist and social worker. Both of them get frustrated and set out for an adventure. They go for a trip after lying to their wives. During the road trip, their bus gets hijacked by Bullet Singh, a dacoit. Bullet’s real name is Ganesh Maity and he is in love with village belle Malati but fails to express his feelings. In a desperate attempt to impress Malati, he turns a dacoit. Anupam, Rajat’s journey takes a hilarious turn because of a bullet. The story of ‘Abar Bibaho Obhijaa’ starts where the first edition ends.
The second installment of the movie franchise starts with Bullet Singh being released from prison. Ganesh Maity aka Bullet Singh was sentenced in the first film. Once he is released, Bullet finds Anupam and Rajat and lures them with his lies. He persuades them by talking about a luxury hotel he has in Bangkok and how he wants to give half of it to the duo. Rajat and Anupam can’t resist the temptation. They set out on a journey without knowing what’s actually waiting for them.
‘Abar Bibaho Obhijaan’ received a mixed response from the audience. It will be interesting to see the response once the movie is released on OTT.
