Warangal
About 3 hours away from Hyderabad, Warangal is a fascinating place with an interesting backstory. It is believed that the city was carved out of one big single rock. It was ruled by the Kakatiya dynasty, and you can see some beautiful historic structures here. The historic city was also described by Marco Polo in his travel writings, and here the Thousand Pillar Temple is a must-visit.
Lonavla
At the end of an epic 12 hour journey, you will reach this beautiful destination in Maharashtra. Lonavla is a gorgeous destination that has a cool weather, and a cooler vibe. You will be away from the crowded streets of Hyderabad, or Mumbai, and experience a solitary bliss like never before. It is a good option for a long weekend.
Pattadakal
The Group of Monuments in Pattadakal is certainly one of the favoured destinations for a road trip. The 7th and 8th century art displayed here are mesmerising to say the least. Pattadakal is about 9 hours away from Hyderabad, and is definiely worth the trip, especially if you are a history buff.
Badami
One of the most spectacular places you can visit on a road trip from Hyderabad is Badami. The Badami cave temples are one of a kind, from a different time. There are four caves in total here, with the first one dedicated to Lord Shiva. The third cave is the largest of the group, with giant images of Lord Vishnu. The fourth one is a Jain cave.
