This is a relatively smaller place and dates back to 13th century, and is said to belong to Romeo and his family, the Montagues. The house is a private building and there is no entry inside. It has several internal courtyards, and seems like a castle as it has a squat tower and high walls. While you cannot visit the house, a restaurant nearby has some rooms of the house believed to have been occupied by Montecchi. There is an inscription on the facade of the house that reads, “Oh Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?” “Tut! I have lost myself; I am not here.” Romantic, isn’t it?
