The event was attended by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He attended the event as the chief guest. After the success of the event, the PM gave the prestigious achievement certificate to the state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. When the grand record was created, the ghat was surrounded by over 50000 people.
The lighting up of the ghats began at 5:15 PM sharp. An official from the Guinness Book of Records was there to note down all the proceedings. He said, “We are going to count how many lamps remain lit for five minutes. Drones have been put up to record the proceedings and we are going to examine it before declaring the final count.”
The crowd continuously kept chanting and cheering Jai Shree Ram. After the program, a 3D holographic projection started wherein a few important episodes from the epic Ramayana were screened. It was one of the showstoppers.
At the end of the show, the UP government also paid a tribute to Lata Mangeshkar and played Ram bhajans sung by the legendary singer.
