The new variant of COVID-19 was detected in November 2021 and on March 19, China reported two COVID-19 deaths. Then on Sunday, China reported 2027 new cases in the mainland.
As per local media, China will lock down Jilin city for three days starting Monday night as the numbers are high in the region. It is the second largest city in the province with a population of nearly 4.5 million.
