Full-blown theatrics in a spectacular setting
Word to the wise: If you're on a budget or opera isn't really your thing, opt for cheaper standing room tickets for the opportunity to get a glimpse of the opulent theatre.
The Opéra de Nice has been known to stage both traditional and forward-thinking productions and with a ballet, chorus and the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra at its disposal, it's no wonder the Opéra has remained popular and innovative over the years. In addition to performances from its own in-house companies, the Opéra has also staged many renowned performances such as 'La Bohème' with Luciano Pavarotti and 'Samson and Delilah' with Placido Domingo.
