This is where Penang artistes come together to bring you a slice of local lifestyle and culture. Discover Penang with an array of interactive designs. Start your tour with a hallway full of paintings depicting everyday routine of a century ago, hand-pulled rickshaws of the past, and with a cup of coffee or tea with an admired chief minister of Penang! Once inside the air-conditioned premises, see how cobblers made wooden shoes and learn about British era life in the museum’s vicinity from its elaborate model of the waterfront. Miniature models depicting food vendors and food types adorn the showcases on walls.
Tips: Located on Pengkalan Weld, this is a popular attraction among visitors and especially with passengers of cruise liners that halt at Penang port, just across the street. On busy days, it may take more than an hour to cover this place.
