Manali, a picturesque hill station in Himachal Pradesh, is one of the most-visited destinations in India. The pretty hill station attracts travellers from all over the globe and is brimming with some exotic cafes and retreats. If you are planning to travel to Manali anytime soon and you just got three days in hand, here’s an itinerary to cover it all.
In three days, you can easily cover most famous places and attractions here. Let’s take a look at a 3-day itinerary to Manali.
Reach Manali and explore local attractions
After reaching Manali and checking in your hotel, you can head to the famous local attractions such as the Hadimba Devi Temple, Manu Temple and Beas River.
Hadimba Temple
Set only about 2 km away from Manali Bus Stand, it is one of the oldest temples in the country. Also famous as Dhungri Temple, it is one of the must-visit places to visit in Manali.
Manu Temple
Another prominent temple to see in Manali is the Manu Temple, which is about 3 km from Manali Bus Stand. The temple is located in old Manali and is dedicated to the Indian sage, Manu. As per mythology, Manali is named after Manu, who is believed to be the creator of humans on earth.
Vashisht Temple
Head to Vashisht Temple, which is also about 3 km from the bus stand in Manali. The pretty temple is dedicated to sage Vashisht, who was the guru of Lord Rama.
Jogni Falls
From Vashisht Temple, drive to Jogni Falls, which is some 8 km from Manali Bus Stand. This picturesque waterfall near Vashisht Village is among the most famous attractions in the hill station.
Solang Valley
Day 2
On day 2, you can plan a day around the gorgeous Solang Valley. The place is quite popular among adventure enthusiasts. In peak winters, tourists visit here to enjoy skiing. Paragliding, mountaineering and trekking are some of the other activities people can enjoy in the valley.
Rohtang Pass
On the same day, you can also cover Rohtang. Do make sure you get your permit a day before (hotels and cab drivers can easily arrange for the permits). It is another gem of a place to explore in Himachal.
Naggar Castle
Day 3:
Naggar Castle is a must-visit attraction in Himachal Pradesh. The pretty wooden castle is some 20 km from Manali and is among the best heritage places to visit in the state. The views you get from here are simply breathtaking!
Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery And Museum
From Naggar Castle, you can head to Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery And Museum, which is about 2 km from the castle. This hidden gem is one of the prominent museums in Himachal Pradesh.
Manikaran
You can end your trip by paying a visit to Manikaran, about 40 km from Kullu and 80 km from Manali. Set in the gorgeous Parvati Valley, Manikaran is a religious centre noted for its hot springs and temples and a gurudwara.
