This summer, these experiences in Kinnaur are all that you need
Kinnaur is one of the 12 administrative districts that make up the Himachal Pradesh state in India. The district is divided into three administrative areas. Despite the fact that it is the second least populous district in Himachal Pradesh (out of 12), after Lahaul and Spiti, it is home to nine vital languages. Thick mountain woods, orchards, fields, and picturesque hamlets cover the slopes. The old Hindustan-Tibet Road passes through Kinnaur Valley, along River Sutlej’s bank, before entering Tibet.
Kinnaur has a lot of interesting things to do and activities you can take part in.
Trek to Lamkhaga
Lamkhaga is a high pass that connects Kinnaur to Harshil in Uttarakhand. It's a 5300m mountain pass, with a corniced ridge on one side and near-vertical slopes on the other. On the same ridge, Lamkhaga, Nela pass, and Chunsa Khaga pass are located.
Fishing at River Baspa
For canoeists, fishing in Baspa's crystal clear waters is a real treat. Tourists also obtain day permits from local authorities in order to fish for trout. Trout fishing is usually the best between the months of April and October.
Valley crossing
At Apple Orchard Farm and Camping Sangla Valley, you can cross the valley on a rope. It may appear to be quite dangerous, given the raging rivers below and the fact that they are dangling from a rope. This is an activity that will make your heart race. There are, however, safety precautions taken to ensure the participants' safety. To avoid any mishaps and to enjoy the moment, it is, however, necessary to strictly follow the guidelines.
Shopping in Kinnaur
A tourist attraction at a high elevation has its own set of limitations. There are no upscale stores or shopping malls in the area. Kinnaur, on the other hand, is known for its woolens, such as mufflers, caps, and shawls. You can also buy wood carvings, silver and stone ornaments, and metal work showpieces as souvenirs of your trip. The main places to shop are Khadi gram, small production cum training centers and melas.
Lipa Asrang Wildlife Sanctuary
Lipa Asrang Wildlife Sanctuary is located close to the town of Moorang. In 1974, the state's pay records revealed that the sanctuary was spread over a 31 sq km area. The refuge is still relatively unknown to tourists, as it has been for the past century. Animals commonly found in this sanctuary include yak, leopard, ibex, goral, brown bear, blue sheep, Himalayan black bear, musk deer and others.
Yoga in Kinnaur
Consider going to a yoga retreat. Imagine meditating with the Himalayas as a backdrop! If you're looking for a place to get away from the stress and chaos of city life, the villages in Kinnaur, especially Kalpa, is the place to go. Many resorts offer yoga sessions as well as comfortable accommodations in natural settings.
A trip to the Tibetan Wood Carving Center
This center is on the outskirts of Sangla, near the Saffron Farm, the wood items available here are kept for display as well as for sale, and tourists, particularly foreign visitors, enjoy purchasing them. The Tibetan Wood Carving Center has a large collection of hand-crafted items that showcase the region's artistic abilities. These items are purchased as souvenirs in Sangla by visitors, who want to take home a loving memory of Himachal Pradesh and its vibrant culture.
