Things to do when in Kheerganga
Kheerganga trek has become overly popular in recent years, owing to Kasol's reputation as a hippie hangout. While there is a party crowd in Kasol, you will also find adventure enthusiasts testing their strength in trekking. Likewise, a few years ago, I spent some time in the Parvati Valley, and I doubt I have anything new to say about it, given how popular it is. Nonetheless, since I started off on the wrong route, it turned out slightly more interesting.
The temperature in Kheerganga changes with the seasons! During winters, the weather can be bitterly cold, with snow blanketing the landscape. Trekkers can opt to go on a long vigorous hike in the wild natural environment for multiple days at any time of the year, and for any month, whether it is December or May.
So, let's have a look at five best activities that you must do in Kheerganga.
Hot spring bath
While less healthy people are not encouraged to engage in this trek, those who complete it are rewarded with hot springs at the summit. For a relaxing experience, people lie in a hot bath.
Kartikeya Cave
This cave has a marble-like Kartikeya idol, and the temple is also known as the Kartikeya Gupha (cave) temple. There are no signs or other indicators indicating the way to the temple. There is no priest in the temple. As per the Hindu legends, Kartikeya, Lord Shiva's younger son, meditated for thousand years at Khir Ganga, making it a sacred place for Hindus.
Camping overnight
As you reach the peak, you can check out the options for staying overnight. You will be able to find both inexpensive lodgings as well as budget-friendly options here without any hassle.
Chill in cafes
Numerous cafes with excellent European cuisine and a relaxing ambiance can be found. It also has a number of unique cafes where visitors can try out some of the best Israeli cuisines.
Trekking
As for the trek, there are narrow and pretty treacherous trails. Yet, reaching the KheerGanga peak is a rewarding experience as one gets to witness the gorgeous scenery ofmajestic valleys, mountain goats, white lush mountains, and tranquil oak forests covered in snow
