The city has a reputation for many things, but hilarity isn't one of them. The Laughter Factory aims to fix that by importing comedians from the English-speaking world into a variety of Abu Dhabi venues each month. They've managed to snag some heavy hitters, including the likes of Michael Mcintyre and Russell Peters, who play to a grateful ex-pat audience starved for a bit of humour.
Oddly, given the locale, the stand-up verges on racy. One can only assume the censors turn a blind eye and no one's complaining.
